Well this isn’t what I thought I would be blogging about today, but I guess it will be now. In just a couple of months our lease for our townhome will be up and over the last couple of weeks we have been trying to decide on whether to renew, or look for a new rental home. Although our situation with the neighbors has been resolved with them moving on (more on that later), we just have lost the feeling of living in this neighborhood. I got an e-mail this past week from a local bu...
I was debating doing this type of post, but it actually fits in with one of my resolutions, so here it goes. Lose weight. Yes, this is the classic resolution, but the time has come for me to get back into shape. I have already changed our grocery habits today, eliminating most of the junk. My biggest weakness is soda, but it’s something I have to slowly back away from. Going to join the gym tomorrow, and there’s a good chance I’m going to start te...
Here are some highlights of our Thanksgiving. I also wanted to see how embeding a slideshow would work.
I have spent the last couple of weeks browsing through the ad scans hoping for some good deals on either games, toys, or electronics, and there was really nothing to speak of this year. The stores and malls were packed without a doubt, but the lack of any real sales will make this a dismal shopping day. Many of the popular items this year such as certain games and other related electronics were not discounted at all, and the things that were on sale were stuff you wouldn’t buy anyway...
The day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, is nearly upon us. This is the day where people get up way early and wait in huge lines to get so-called “sale” prices. I have been going through the ad scans and I don’t see any real reason to get up early this year. Many of these retailers will have the sales on their websites, along with a better selection, so I might just take that route. You can get a sneak peak at many of the Black Friday deals here. http://for...
Mine wasn’t too bad. We went to the Lakefront on Friday to watch the fireworks, and spent the rest of the weekend shopping and relaxing.
Happy Monday WinCustomizers! Lets take a few minutes to get the day going with some of the latest skins and themes that came in over the weekend. Take a look!
Tonight we ventured out to grab some last minute Christmas gifts. Most of these are for adults which I have taken the stand that we will stop giving gifts to adults, but my wife has yet to agree. Anyways, the traffic is insane, the stores are over-crowded, and the sales are horrible again this year. Why go through this when we can just stop and grab some gift cards? They are a great gift. One store can have a huge variety in different amounts, and the person can go out...
People who complain about not having enough money to pay bills, but yet spends money on useless things like parties, going out, etc. Going to a teenie-bopper clothing store and looking out of place while you wait for the kids to shop. People who send e-mails with dark colored backgrounds with black text. I mean, seriously? Telemarketers who call and ask for me by my first name, and then act like they know me personally. Not having the ri...
I thought today we could start a new feature everybody could participate in. Did someone do something over the weekend that just really got on your nerves? Maybe just can't stand the way something is being done. Well let it out here, just keep it clean and don't name names. Four-way stops. I mean seriously, how hard is this concept? This is basic driving that anyone should have learned within the first few hours of driving. The best part is the pe...
The construction on the house is moving along quite well. In just a matter of a week, they poured the foundation, put the blocks up, and began the roof. We had to go and pick out the colors, carpet, and all that other good stuff, which is always a lot of fun. We are trying to keep the costs down as much as possible, and the only upgrades we really got were a paint upgrade, and a backsplash for the kitchen. These are things that would have cost much more time and money to d...
One of the most important phases of a new house went down yesterday, which is the pouring of the foundation. I was hoping it would go down earlier this week, but the rain and freeze had put some delays in there. The builder also called so we can make an appointment with the design center to get the colors picked out. He’s also going to do weekly walkthroughs of the building site with us. So that is the latest updates to our little adventure we have going on.
Well I guess it’s my turn. I was born in Florida, and have lived in Florida for the majority of time. I used to be an auxiliary police officer. I am the Vice President for a local non-profit group. I have been married twice. I used to be involved in DJ’ing and music production locally in Florida. I always carry a firearm when not in the house. My first job was cleaning rooms at a resort. I used to be a far-left libe...
Not too many developments this week. They did get the foundation frame and basic plumbing work in, so I suspect the foundation will be poured sometime in the next couple of days. Still going through the mortgage process. We had found some fraudulent things on our credit reports so we are now in the process of getting them removed. One thing is that is concerning me is we now have less than two months left on or lease, and we have to give at least 30 days notice of o...
In my first article I laid out our plans to buy a house. Today came the time to go through and sign the first round of papers committing to the purchase. So many things to go through, but we now have the price and a ton of incentives locked in. The next step is proceeding with the mortgage details and going in and picking out colors and things of that sort. The lot is cleared and just waiting on one more permit before the actual building can start, and I wanted to create a...
