Thanksgiving is just about here, and that means two things. One is a whole lot of turkey, and the other is Black Friday where just about everyone who shops loses a bit of their mind. Black Friday is the "traditional" start of the holiday shopping season, and for many that day starts very early, maybe even the day before. Depending on what sales are going on people will camp out the day before to get the "early" deals. The last couple of years my wife and I would drop the kid...
Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday have passed, how many of you braved the crowds and actually went out looking for deals? I did not get up early at all, and as a matter of fact I took this opportunity to relax and sleep in a bit. Around lunch time or so we took off to a few stores just to get out of the house and see if we can catch anything left on sale. First stop was Staples as I had to pickup some off supplies anyways, and browsing through the aisles I spotted 2GB ...
Well my Saturday will be taken up by class for most of the day. Tomorrow I start the process of obtaining my Florida concealed weapons permit which is a class that lasts for about 3 or so hours. For about $85 I get the class which mostly consists of someone reading the laws about carrying weapons in public and so forth. The rest is fingerprinting, paperwork, pictures, etc. After that I need to see the application and state fee to Florida, and wait up to a couple of months to...

I was just looking at my desk (which is a mess btw), and noticed I had a few magazines I haven't read yet. I then went downstairs and noticed more had come in the mail. I was curious how many magazine subscriptions do you have, or how many magazines do you read on a regular basis? My current list is: PC Gamer Games for Windows PC World PC Magazine MacWorld MacLife EGN 3D Graphics World Xbox Magazine eWeek Information Weekly American Handgunner I th...
The holiday season is here, and being one of my favorite holidays, I love to get our Christmas Tree up and decorated. We got a 7ft Douglas Fir, and decorated it with blue and white LED lights.
Well this isn’t what I thought I would be blogging about today, but I guess it will be now. In just a couple of months our lease for our townhome will be up and over the last couple of weeks we have been trying to decide on whether to renew, or look for a new rental home. Although our situation with the neighbors has been resolved with them moving on (more on that later), we just have lost the feeling of living in this neighborhood. I got an e-mail this past week from a local bu...
I was debating doing this type of post, but it actually fits in with one of my resolutions, so here it goes. Lose weight. Yes, this is the classic resolution, but the time has come for me to get back into shape. I have already changed our grocery habits today, eliminating most of the junk. My biggest weakness is soda, but it’s something I have to slowly back away from. Going to join the gym tomorrow, and there’s a good chance I’m going to start te...
Here are some highlights of our Thanksgiving. I also wanted to see how embeding a slideshow would work.
I have spent the last couple of weeks browsing through the ad scans hoping for some good deals on either games, toys, or electronics, and there was really nothing to speak of this year. The stores and malls were packed without a doubt, but the lack of any real sales will make this a dismal shopping day. Many of the popular items this year such as certain games and other related electronics were not discounted at all, and the things that were on sale were stuff you wouldn’t buy anyway...
The day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, is nearly upon us. This is the day where people get up way early and wait in huge lines to get so-called “sale” prices. I have been going through the ad scans and I don’t see any real reason to get up early this year. Many of these retailers will have the sales on their websites, along with a better selection, so I might just take that route. You can get a sneak peak at many of the Black Friday deals here. http://for...
Mine wasn’t too bad. We went to the Lakefront on Friday to watch the fireworks, and spent the rest of the weekend shopping and relaxing.
Yesterday I went to the class to get licensed to carry a concelaed weapon. The class was full with a wide range of people in age, occupation, and weirdness. It was disturbing in some ways to see the types of people that will potentially be licensed to carry a firearm. Well anyway's, the class itself was a couple of hours long, and basically gave basic firearms training and the laws and your rights of carrying a firearm. The class was taught by a very knowledgeable St. Clou...
