Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday have passed, how many of you braved the crowds and actually went out looking for deals?  I did not get up early at all, and as a matter of fact I took this opportunity to relax and sleep in a bit.  Around lunch time or so we took off to a few stores just to get out of the house and see if we can catch anything left on sale.

First stop was Staples as I had to pickup some off supplies anyways, and browsing through the aisles I spotted 2GB of notebook memory which on sale for $40-something, but only until 10am.  Looking at my phone it was well past noon, but I picked it up and headed for the cashier anyways.  I was happy when it rang up still on sale as it looks like they didn't update their pricing yet, so that RAM I have been looking for was now done.

Next stop was Best Buy, which by the amount of traffic that was backed up, I knew this place was going to be packed.  After waiting in traffic for a while we finally got in, and I was right, this place was a mess.  Everything that was on "sale" in the paper was nearly gone and obviously the electronics and game sections were incredibly packed with people.  After looking at a few HDTV's, and realizing there were no good deals left, it was time to take off.

We ended back in town and made a quick stop at GameStop to pickup a DS game, and then over to Home Depot to get the Christmas Tree.  After that we headed home and I finished my shopping "day" online and proceeded to decorate the house.  So Black Friday was nothing special this year, and I'm glad I didn't wake up very, very early for it.

I stepped nowhere near any major retail outlet. Let the fools have their fun I say.

I holed up in a hotel all weekend, venturing out only to visit the grocery and the Applebee's. Materialism is the god of the foolish, I prefer to worship at the alter of the adult beverage.

Nope, no shopping for me either! It was a nice holiday weekend and even better, I have an extra day off tomorrow!

I had a pretty low key holiday weekend.  I went no where on Friday.  Saturday I was off to the metroplex to return something which took forever but then I got lunch out.  Today I went to church.  I always think that I am going to get some big project done on long weekends but it was nice to take it easy and just relax.
