Link: http://g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/1946/Sins-of-a-Solar-Empire-Entrenchment-Review.html “Entrenchment does add a few other, minor changes, like a new “quick start” mode that drops you in there with a colonized planet and a few ships at your disposal, and some re-organized elements in the tech tree. But, really this “micro-expansion” is just about adding those few new defensive abilities, abilities that really do spice up the game. Even if you are a purely offensive p...

I have been watching this nonsense unfold all day, and it has been really funny in some ways.  All this fake outrage started when people saw that AIG executives received bonuses that were contractually owed to them, and allowed in Obama’s “stimulus” plan.  The White House won’t give specifics on how or when exactly Obama learned about these  bonuses, but today’s “outrage” looks pretty staged to me. All day we have politicians, mostly democrats, say some outrageous things like...

I was happy to see so many people found the first edition of Impulse ‘Tips and Tricks’ so helpful, so I was anxious to be able to write the next one.  In the first article we covered the 'Blue Orb’, and some of it’s basic functions like pre-release versions, log-in’s, etc.  I wanted to expand more on the Orb as it holds much more than what we first discussed. Download Impulse from www.impulsedriven.com .   The Orb….continued As mentioned, we...

It’s been a while since the last member spotlight, but I wanted to get it going again.  Today, we will get back into things with theAVMAN , who has been a member of WinCustomize since October 2006.  Since then, he has already achieved the rank of Journeyman and is a valued member of the community. I could sit here and talk about some of the cool stuff he does with audio, but I guess we need to keep it towards skinning.  I have always been a fan of his WindowBlinds skin...

Windows 7 is generating a really nice “buzz” in the community, and one of the big strikes against Vista for many users was performance issues, and I know this is something that many consumers are taking a hard look at. I was reading ZDNet this morning and came across an article that has some real-world performance tests on the latest beta of Windows 7. “The scoring system that I use seems to have confused some readers. It’s actually very simple. We run each test for each OS in turn and...

I just came across this interview with Ironclad’s Blair Fraser with 1up.com about the next installment in the micro-expansions for Sins of a Solar Empire. "The second micro expansion is really about both diplomacy and the non-military aspects of the game which will bring it more in line with the RT4X sub-genre we've labeled it as. Certainly, multiple paths to victory, especially non military paths, are part of that," Fraser said, adding that the introduction of additional gam...

Gamevortex.com has published a preview of Demigod, and gives a quick look at some of the elements of Demigod and how it’s played. “People play real-time strategy games for different reasons. Some people enjoy these games for their complexity, while others tinker around with mods in an effort to expand the limits of the game. Last, but not least, there are many RTS gamers who forgo base-building and mineral-collecting in favor of a good old-fashioned unit (read: Zerg) rush. Demigod of...

I'm just curious if anybody here actually supports the "Stimulus" and all the government spending that Obama has continued.  Bush was a horrible spender, but he's still nothing compared to what Obama has done in just over a month.  For years, all we have heard is how bad it is to run deficits, but now, those same people seem to be pretty quiet about it now. Do they support it, or do they just realize what hypocrites they really are?

We are just about at the mid-point of the month, and one of the biggest things going on right now is the work on WinCustomize 2009.  I would give more details, but not today.  Good skins coming in, and not much else going on this week, so here are this weeks picks! River of Dreams by DEVJIT A new version of BootSkin Vista was released this week, and this bootskin just looks great. Winter by BoXXi This was made to match the Winte...
