Many thought it would be later in the year for the holiday season, but apparently Microsoft is confident that Windows 10 will be ready for a summer release. "We continue to make great development progress and shared today that Windows 10 will be available this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages. Windows has always been global with more than 1.5 billion users around the world and here in China hundreds of millions of PCs operate Windows today. That’s why it was particularly fun ...
If you follow my posts you might have seen I planned and recently finished my new PC . Putting together a new PC is a bit of work, at least assembling all the parts together and making sure everything works. That's only one part of it though, as you also have to install Windows, install all your apps and games, and then get your data moved back. My new PC doesn't have an optical drive, so I loaded up my Windows 8 ISO onto a USB drive and installed it. It didn't ...

You might have seen me mention it before, but my current main/gaming PC is around 7 years old. I really can’t complain though, because it has lasted and really hasn’t caused any problems until now. I built it then for around $600 or so, and it is the main PC I work with and play games on. The past couple of months it has been difficult to start and keep running efficiently, so it’s time to start looking at a new build. In a previous post I mentioned I was l...
At the beginning of the year I posted about a new gaming mouse I picked up. It was an E-Blue Mazer 2000 which I picked up on Amazon for around $20. It’s been a fairly good piece of inexpensive hardware, but after a ton of use the scroll wheel was starting to wear down, so it was time for something new. Around the Thanksgiving holiday weekend Amazon had a bunch of Logitech stuff on sale, so I picked up the Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse for about $44. That&rsqu...
Amazon announced the Fire TV stick device, and if you are a Prime subscriber you can pre-order one for just $19 for the next couple of days. Link Seems like a pretty good deal for a streaming device for $19.

Sometime today the Windows Insider Program will launch and people will be able to download the Windows 10 Technical Preview. Windows Insider Program: http://preview.windows.com/ It should be noted that this is a Technical Preview and should not be installed for use as your main operating system. If you aren't familiar with any of this, I'd advise just waiting until next year when it fully released.

I’ve been watching the news about 3D printers for a while, and one of the reasons is the very cool ability in Galactic Civilizations III that allows you to print your ship designs with a 3D printer. Most people think 3D printers aren’t affordable at least for the general consumer, and in most cases they are exactly right. However, within the next year we should be seeing several consumer-level 3D printers available for just a few hundred dollars or less. Image via @draginol :...
