Spyware Guide for PC users I still see a lot of people here having difficulties with spyware on their computers. I also noticed that some people still have no idea what tools are available to them that can help them clean and repair their computers. I compiled a list of some of the best programs to detect, and get rid of spyware on your PC. Some are free, some are not, and some are online scanners. Either way you can find some of the best to...
The Nintento Revolution is something I definitely want. The Nintendo Revolution will go on sale later this year at a price of less than $300, the company's executive vice president of sales and Marketing Reggie Fils-Aime told CNET News.com in an interview earlier this week. The news sent the company's stock soaring in Japan, up 6.4 percent to 16,090 yen Friday. Fils-Aime also took the opportunity to criticize Nintendo's rivals for pricing consumers out of the market. He pointed to the X...
I always figured the PS3 would be released around the Holiday season. The release of Sony's highly anticipated PlayStation 3 may not occur in the U.S. until the holiday season of 2006, analysts say. Furthermore, in what could be potentially damaging to the gaming console's overall sales, the number of titles available may be far less than competitor Xbox 360. A working version of the console was notably absent at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, and Sony CEO Howard String...
Filezilla is an open source ftp client. I have tried several and this is one of the best.
"nLite lets you choose which components to remove from your Windows 2000, XP or 2003 before installation. Removing unneeded components you gain on your system speed and security. It supports removal of almost any component and few services. You can make a bootable ISO with it and even easy slipstream Service pack with a click of a button. Now added easy cd-key implementation so you don't need to enter it during setup."
I'm not sure about this. "In his keynote address Friday at the Tokyo Game Show, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata took the wraps off a complete redesigned wireless controller for the company's forthcoming Revolution game console. The controller works like a remote control in one hand, with an optional analog unit for two-handed gameplay." Despite rumors to the contrary, but in keeping with the schedule I first published on the SuperSite for Windows months ago, Microsoft is planning to ship Windows Vista Beta 2 in late 2005, not in early 2006. According to internal documentation I recently reviewed, Vista Beta 2 is scheduled to be "feature complete" by September 29, 2005. Then, Vista Beta 2 will enter lockdown mode between October and November 9, 2005. After that date, Beta 2 will be in escrow. Microsoft now plans to ship Win...
My wife is trying to download CursorXP for her computer at work. The link at download.com and snapfiles.com doesn't work.
Now it appears that WinFS has been given a reprieve, and could make an appearance alongside Windows Vista. WinFS preview code, possibly a first beta release, is expected to be issued to developers at Microsoft's PDC 2005. The company has also scheduled four WinFS-related sessions for the PDC. Sources are reporting to Microsoft Watch that WinFS is also on track with efforts to back-port the technology to Windows XP. Vista's other fundamentals, Avalon and Indigo, were ported to XP to ensur...
I just got my "self-installation" kit with for my new DSL connection. The service doesn't come on till tomorrow though. Reading through the installation guide it says the telephone cable from the jack to the modem shouldn't be more than 10 feet long. Is this correct? My desk is about 25 ft. away from the jack.
My wife is thinking about letting me get a Mac Mini. I mean I'm going to buy a Mac Mini soon. I have a Viewsonic LCD which I have connected to my desktop with a dvi cable. I have been looking at a lot of KVM's and I notice most don't have dvi connections, and the one's that do are very expensive. I have never had a KVM before, so I'm looking for suggestions or advice.
A new variant of Mac OS X for Intel began surfacing on Internet sites early Thursday, boasting the ability to run on any x86 based computer. The leak has apparently been cracked to bypass the protections that prevent Apple's development kits from running on any unofficial system Link
Don't forget to run Windows Update for your October updates.
I wonder if this will be the "last" update from Macromedia since Adobe bought them. Macromedia on Monday announced an updated version of its suite of multimedia creation tools -- dubbed Studio 8 -- heralding the first overhaul of its product line in two years. The suite includes its Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, as well as the Contribute and FlashPaper products. Betanews link - Link
Developers with access to Apple's Intel Mac development systems say they are impressed with the speed that Mac OS X and several associated applications are running at, enthusiast site AppleInsider reported on Wednesday. According to one developer, the Intel Mac ran the operating system faster than his home dual 2.0GHz Power Mac G5. The development systems come with a Pentium 4 3.6 GHz processor, an 800MHz frontside bus, and 1GB of SDRAM. The developer said Windows XP boots quickly on the...
