Back towards the beginning the year, I started a thread on the WinCustomize forums giving ski nners the opportunity to give us previews and "sneak peeks" of works in progress.  That thread had well over 1200 replies , many of which were actual previews of skins that were eventually released. Since the GUI Champs are starting to ramp up, and skinning is still going strong even over the summer months, I opened up a "part II" of that thread to get a fresh start.  So if you have any sk...

I thought the DNC thinks gas taxes are fine. The committee hosting the Democratic National Convention has used the city's gas pumps to fill up and apparently avoided paying state and federal fuel taxes. The practice, which began four months ago, may have ended hours after its disclosure. An aide to Mayor John Hickenlooper released a statement Tuesday evening saying that Denver 2008 Host Committee members would pay market prices for fuel and would also be liable for all applicable taxes. ...

DesktopX 3.5 was released recently, and one of the biggest feature updates is the ability to export your DX creations as a Vista sidebar gadget.  Creating a gadget for the Vista sidebar isn’t the easiest thing to do, and it has limitations that DesktopX can easily overcome.  DesktopX is a very powerful application which can create a wide variety of mini-applications for your desktop.  These can range from simple weather gadgets, on up to very complex applications with multiple f...

Every couple of weeks, at least during summer time, WinCustomize community member wulfn1 gives her thoughts and review of recent skins.  You often see features from either myself or Zoomba, and the perspective from someone in the community is very much welcomed. Wulfn1 puts together a terrific desktop much of which is based on the 100: Tribute to BoXXi suite.  Head over and check out the full article.

Last week was a very busy week, and due to some scheduling conflicts the WinCustomize SkinCast wasn't recorded for this week.  No worries though, we should be back on track this week, and in the next couple of weeks the show will get real interesting. That's the only hint you will get this week.

I had a lot of work to do this weekend, so not much time to play games.  However, I did take a little bit of time to give the Spore Creature Creator a shot.  My first impression was it is a neat tool that will hopefully compliment the game well.  Creating a creature of my very own was really fun, and it seems the possibilities are endless.  I was using the trial so my creation possibilities were a bit limited, but from what I have seen, the full version should be great....

There is just so much to this story, and it really proves how the media is completely backing Obama.  At a speech in Colorado Springs on July 2nd, Barack Hussein Obama made this statement ... "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve thenational security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civiliannational security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, justas well-funded." Of course Obama never gives specifics, but this is an ext...

We are just over the first half of the year, and the fall and winter lineup of games is really starting to take shape.  What are some of the upcoming games you are looking most forward to?  Here's my list.

  1. Demigod

  3. GhostBusters
  4. Aliens: Colonial Marines
  5. C&C: Red Alert 3

There are quite a few more, but I just can't think of the names right now.

She is at it again. “the president of the United States, a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject." Pelosi, 68, said the House and Senate were busy "trying to sweep up after (Bush's) mess over and over and over again ... The president knows it. He needs something to talk about. Because he has no ideas." She must have a really big pair to call Bush a “total fai...
