To make it look like XP?
Published on July 22, 2008 By Island Dog In WinCustomize News

If you made the leap over to Vista, but still want some of the look and feel of XP...no worries.  With just a few handy tools you can bring the XP experience back to Vista in no time at all.  PC World has a featured article today outlining how to do just that, and what is one of the tools they recommend?  Well, WindowBlinds of course!

Head over to PC World and check it out.

We spent the last five years trying to give XP the Vista look, Longhorn, the Vista Side-bar, Icons, Aero, Transparency, Transformation Packs, Animated Windows, Vista, Vista, Vista! And now, for 2008 the NEW trend is to transform Vista to XP? I think that's funny as hell!

My wife uses Luna.  I think it may be because she doesnt' want me to touch her PC and it seems to repel me like garlic does a vampire.

The article would have been cool if it actually got the XP start menu and windows back. The layout, not luna. I tried what he said and all you get for a start menu is win 2000 and the window layouts are all Vista...not classic.(I want my damn toolbars back)I could live with the command bar...its no more worthless than the taskpane in XP.   He made it sound like you could get the gui to function like XP(and get the start menu to look like XP)...noot gonna happen.

What amazed me the most, wasn't the article itself but the comments....

Not one Vista-basher...

Only positive comments.
Have people finally come to their senses?

Buy Vista, Vista is good, XP is bad, you want Vista, go on and buy a new computer, your computer needs Vista!

No Wait!

Vista is bad, you need XP, XP is good, your computer needs XP, convert your brand new Vista system back to XP...

You know, when WindowBlinds first was Vista compatible one of top questions that people would ask me was how to get Luna on Vista.

NO!After last nights attempt to finally get Vista tweaked to act like a proper OS....I was sick of it...and only got about half way thru...windoes update added 2 gigs to the already bloated 9 gig system folder.

Try changing your available drive space for system restore(15% by default)...you have to use a cmd prompt window. And if you dual boot with XP,all your restore points get deleted anyway...so you might as well turn it off for Vista.(there is a fix,but of course, its a half assed one)

Lets see...15% for defragging,15% system restore,10 percent recycle bin...my 100 gig drive just got really small.
