The next installment in the Demigod short story is out today, titled Demigod Origins: The Torch Bearer .  This is a series of short stories about the Demigod origins which can be found exclusively on Voodoo Extreme.  In case you missed the first one, you can check that out here first . “In the Winter realm of the Vinlings, Hrundel Lightbearer was born to Queen Frythia Fair Frost. Messengers brought word of the birth to King Hungarling, who had been away from his hearth for ...

If you spend any time on the internet, you probably have heard of Twitter.  It has been growing in popularity for some time, and it has been making some significant headlines lately.  Twitter is basically a micro-blogging service which is a great way to follow headlines, communicate with others, and just general networking. We have been using Twitter to communicate to our fans and customers, and it has been a huge success so far.   Zoomba has taken the time to create a T...

These are just a little late, but I still wanted to feature some works from the weekend and past few days.  I am really keeping a good eye on the RightClick and ObjectDock galleries, as some fantastic skins and backgrounds have been rolling in lately. Are there any galleries you think have been getting more submissions than usual?

So with just over a month of Obama officially being President, and since elected in November, the stock market has lost well over 2000 points (didn't hear much in the media about that), they have pushed a trillion dollar "stimulus" plan, promised "free" healthcare and college to everyone, and higher taxes. Yesterday, the markets closed under 7000 and I would imagine we will see more of a drop today.  So, how is that socialism working out for you so far?

I took some time this weekend to just sit down and play some Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment without interruption.  I will admit I still have a lot to learn, but the most important thing to me is I just have a blast playing. My PC is getting dated and it doesn’t run as many games as it used to, but it runs Sins just beautifully. Here are a few shots I grabbed from my game.

One of my favorite community features is the new “I Love DesktopX” articles by sViz.  In this latest issue sViz picks some favorite DX skins, gives some tips and tricks for DesktopX creation, and some “Widget talk”. Even if you don’t have DesktopX, it’s a great feature to check out just to see what’s possible with DesktopX.

The last week of the month is just about done, and we will kick off the ending with another edition of This Week in Skinning.  Lots of good skins this week, and it was once again very difficult to narrow down just a few. Take some time out today and browse through the galleries, there are so many more skins that I would have loved to feature this week.

February blew by real fast, so it’s hard to believe just one more day left until March.  With just a couple of months into the year, the skin submissions have been showing some really great numbers.  Many of the galleries are getting increased downloads from old and new members alike.  Lets try to keep this momentum going! Now for this weeks picks! CCF FX by PuterDudeJim This is a matching cursor for his...

Start stocking up on your ammo, rifles, and high-capacity mags now.  As I have posted about before, Obama has one of the worst records regarding gun rights, even going as far as supporting total bans and punishment for homeowners who use firearms in self-defense. Now comes the first ban with the excuse that mexican drug cartels will stop getting weapons if the U.S. bans them.  The logic of liberals is just something else. "Holder said that putting the ban back in place would no...

GameShark.com has published a developers interview with IronClad Games Blair Fraser.  The interview is mostly Sins of a Solar Empire, and a bit about the PC gaming platform. It’s all a very good read. “ Getting off topic for a second --all we hear is that the PC is a dying platform and that if you shun console development you are doomed to fail. How are you guys making it work? If everyone is moving to the console or releasing substandard PC ports that leaves...

TechRepublic.com had a feature today showcasing Fences, and how you can use it to keep your desktop organized.  They even have a step-by-step guide showing how to setup Fences. “It’s been a long time since I have felt the Windows desktop was very useful. But now, with the help of Fences, I have found the often-clunky Windows desktop can gain an element of efficiency and grace. I now use Fences with every Windows desktop I have. You should give it a try yourself…you’ll most likely feel ...

Gas Powered Games Mike Marr is the lead designer on Demigod, and Co-Optimus.com sat down for a chat with him.  They discuss several features about Demigod including the single-player aspect, DLC, multiplayer, and more. Co-Optimus: What options are there for cooperative play above and beyond the skirmishes? Mike: Along with skirmishes, the multiplayer tournaments I spoke of before. Players choose to fight for either the Forces of Light or the Forces of Darkness, which ...
