Start stocking up on your ammo, rifles, and high-capacity mags now.  As I have posted about before, Obama has one of the worst records regarding gun rights, even going as far as supporting total bans and punishment for homeowners who use firearms in self-defense.

Now comes the first ban with the excuse that mexican drug cartels will stop getting weapons if the U.S. bans them.  The logic of liberals is just something else.

"Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

"I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S."

In just a month we have record breaking spending bills, incredible budget increases, nationalization of banks, socialist healthcare plan, "free" college, and now the beginning of gun bans.  What a mistake America made.

In fairness the nationalization of banks was started by Bush.  Granted Obama has plans to increase the amount of nationalization over the next year or so.

I don't know about you but I don't have much "hope" for America at this point.

it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico,

So is he saying that legal guns are being transported to Mexico by people buying them legally? I mean, if a ban is put in place, how exactly will this stop illegal guns from crossing into Mexico? Yet another conceot half way baked.

Charles if this happens it will be the first time in history that the US passed legislation to supposedly support another nations inability to enforce its own laws. Would you expect anything less from the mouth of a man that let murderous terrorists go free?

Personally I feel it's just an excuse and was part of the plan all along. The thugs in government want only the thugs on the street to have firearms. Then we can be as free of gun violence as are places that citizens who aren't allow firearms, like Chicago and Washington DC. <big sarcasm>

Part of the reason for the recent run on ammo & guns across the country is that several states are proposing (or may have passed) ammo identifier laws, requiring a unique SKU on the bullets in each package of ammo sold so that all bullets are traceable to the purchaser.  The kicker is that all existing 'unidentified' ammo will become illegal and 'recalled'.  Discharge of unidentifiable ammo will be illegal, meaning only criminals will use such ammo.  The net effect will be to progressively disarm law-abiding citizens despite their right to bear arms.  Those who wish to see to it that those in power and criminals are the only people allowed weapons, as they have been doing ever since the National Firearms Act of 1934, will adopt any means indirect necessary to negate the second amendment.

For the record - I don't own a gun, have never fired one.

Even as cynical as I was when he got elected, I really didn't think it would all happen this quickly.
