Reading through the latest version of Hillary's health care proposal , you can't help but notice a common phrase being used by her and other prominent democrats whenever the issue of taxes come up.  They know they can never come out and say "we are going to raise taxes", although most Americans know this is the fundamental goal of the democratic party.  So instead of being direct with their intentions, they use another phrase....."repealing the Bush tax cuts".  Now for the us...

I came across an interesting article this morning that shows some facts about the "poor" in this country. Read the full article for all the information, but here are a few that I found quite interesting. 46 percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths , a garage, and a porch or patio. Nearly three quarters of poor households own a car; 31 per...

I just finished watching a 2 hour special on The History Channel , which with the help of Popular Mechanics , debunks the most "popular" conspiracy theories about the events on Sept. 11.  They take a look at the mainstream conspiracy theories, many based upon the propaganda piece "loose change", and debunk them with facts, something they show the conspiracy theorists, or as they call themselves "truthers" fail to do. Some of the most popular conspiracy theories are about the collapse o...

Reading through some posts here recently I noticed how a certain resident liberal explained how the rich should have their taxes increased.  While this is nothing new from the left, it's just ridiculous to even think about giving the government more money when they have proved time and time again it's nothing but a total waste machine for taxpayer dollars. At the same time they say the "rich" should be taxed higher, it is also proclaimed that the "poor" in this country should not have to...

Despite all the gloom and doom from the left, the economy is still going strong. WASHINGTON —  U.S.economic growth rebounded during the second quarter to its strongestpace since the beginning of last year on a surge in businessinvestment, more government spending and a better trade performance, the Commerce Department reported on Friday.

All we need now is democrats to take charge and stop this madness! " U.S.stocks rose Thursday, driving the Dow to its first close over the14,000 mark, after forecast-topping results from the technology andindustrial sectors shifted the market's focus back to earningsoptimism, even as Fed Chief Ben Bernanke fanned concerns about the subprime market."

We did our informal polls throughout the nomination process, but now that we have the candidates down, lets move on to some election predictions.  Everyone give your prediction on who will win, and the rough percentage of the vote they will get. For me.... McCain/Palin will win with 54% majority.

As I have wrote about before, the United States is just too divided that a President will never “unite” the nation.  There are too many ideologies going on, and one will never change the other.  The solution?  Divide the U.S. into East and West.  I have put a lot of thought into this, and I am certain it will work.  Basically, we can draw a line down the middle of the country and give the liberals the left part, and the conservatives the right.  Of course we will ha...

A recession is defined as negative economic growth in two or more economic quarters.  Well today the latest numbers came out and the first quarter of the year showed a 0.6 economic growth.  Not a tremendous number there, but certainly not in the negatives, and shows once again this so-called recession has been fueled more by the media and democrats, than reality. Of course today, watch the MSM headlines.  They have already started their negative spin on it.

Anyone who thinks more taxes for this government is a good idea, and will somehow "help" anything has to be insane. A government report says federal employees wasted millions of taxpayer dollars by charging fees for Internet dating, tailor-made suits, lingerie and lavish dinners on government credit cards . The Associated Press on Tuesday obtained the report by the Government Accountability Office. The report reviewed card spending across the federal government from 2005 to 2006. It f...

"The Election Bribe Package of '08" Sponsored by republicans and made worse by the democrats and media. What started off as a bad idea by republicans was made worse when democrats added even more billions and used more propaganda about unemployment and senior citizens which was then helped by the media. If you get a rebate, take your money and put it into a CD or something.  You will need it for when Obama/Hillary really start "motivating" the economy.    ...

I find it interesting how "some" people have done nothing for the last couple of years of their life but complain, and complain more about the federal budget, but when the government is ready to spend billions and billion on a welfare scheme that they are somehow supportive and even upset that even MORE money was not included for it. I call it hypocrisy. Increasing unemployment benefits to people will not help the economy.  Dependency never helped anyone.  Getting a job will help...

If you have been reading the biased media headlines, or the same from the resident socialist you might believe the GOP blocked the stimulus bill for the nonsense they are saying. The 48-41 vote which the media calls "just falling short of 60...lol" blocked more pork from being added to an already useless bill. Billions to help the economy from a recession that doesn't even exist. The bill will already provide "free" money to people who don't work, or pay taxes, but that just isn't enoug...

The first "poll" we had here on JU was back in late August, and what a bunch of changes and surprises we have had since then.  Fred Thompson's name popped up many times, and since the last poll he has since entered and left the race. We are now approaching February and the next "big" thing (at least for republicans) seems to be Florida, which could most likely narrow the slim field even more.  Right now, each party is basically down to 3 candidates with two of them on the dem...

I was reading the blog yesterday of radio talk show host Neil Boortz.  His show was participating in interviews with the candidates at New HampShire along with many other radio stations.  "Republican" candidate Ron Paul was scheduled to stop by for an interview, but Paul just walked by the show.  A producer asked the Paul campaign people why he skipped the show, and the response was basically because Paul didn't like some things that Boortz was saying about him. Supposedly thes...
