I find it interesting how "some" people have done nothing for the last couple of years of their life but complain, and complain more about the federal budget, but when the government is ready to spend billions and billion on a welfare scheme that they are somehow supportive and even upset that even MORE money was not included for it.

I call it hypocrisy.

Increasing unemployment benefits to people will not help the economy.  Dependency never helped anyone.  Getting a job will help yourself and the economy as a whole instead of relying on the government to take care of you.  Once again, the budget deficit doesn't matter as long as the money goes to welfare and entitlements.

You want to help the economy?  Cut everyones taxes more and cut the wasteful social spending.

I call it hypocrisy.

I call it typical liberalism.

Let's just ignore the billions and billions spent in Iraq. Let's ignore the fact that the Republicans took office with a surplus.

I didn't ignore it.  We should cut most of the spending that has taken place over the last several years.

Let's also look at the billions in new social spending democrats are already proposing.....how about that?

And?  So why should we elect people who will spend even more?

Nice answer. Explain ID's question then? If it's all bad spending, why vote for someone who will only do more bad spending? because they can obligate someone to pay for it by raising their taxes?

Because money going to people who work for it is "bad", money going to people you can feel sorry for is "good".

What has that got to do with the rebate?  Seriously?  If the government gives the poor $300 or $600, how does you comment relate to that?  How is it that giving money to the poor somehow justifies the waste of the last 8 years? (by implication if indeed your comment has any relevancy)
