It almost seems that the left hates Palin more than they hate Bush.  She seems to be the focus of every left-leaning website and publication out there on a daily basis.  The attacks on her and her family have been nothing short of discusting.  I have even had liberals tell me straight out, "she scares me".  Of course, when I ask for specifics they don't seem to have an answer, much like asking them about Obama's accomplishments.

I do understand how a strong, conservative woman like Palin can be intimidating to liberals, I mean she is tougher than most of them.  However, I'm curious as to what is the basis of all this hate.  Is it just because she's a conservative, or are there real reasons to fear her?

So, I read that 24th comment on this thread and followed all of this evolution debate here.

Heh, that was me...

I've seen some quotes from that reply pop up here and there with their two cents attached without reading my follow ups.  For those who believe I was saying that Palin was advocating for and trying to force those 'science' issues to be brought up in public schools, what was not what I was going after.  With that reply, I was merely addressing the question of why don't I like her?  For the record, I like debating Lulapilgrim on evolution.  It brings me great joy, but I won't continue it on this thread.

P.S.:  I know I still didn't write that article we had mentioned a little, Lula...things have been really busy as of late.  Not much time to sit down and collect thoughts to express; it has been go, go, go, maybe eat or sleep...   I suspect my next blog will be about personal things anyway, so we'll see if I can get back into the swing of things here in the weeks to come.

Thanks Kurtin for the follow-up....

I too have greatly enjoyed the evolution debate....

Don't trouble yourself over being busy with life outside JU.

What do you think of my #210 post on Palin?

Interesting choice of words....How far will Obamians go to make sure this "cannot be allowed to happen"? Is this why there is so much voter fraud going on in Ohio? WNMNKH POSTS: This thread is for Palin, but why do I see evolution debate here?I think it goes back to Kurtin's comment #24......if you care to follow the discussion, I think you'll find it is interestingly relevant.

Relatively???? He's had no executive experience whatsoever! And for the time he's been in the US Senate, he's voted present all too often showing he's unable or unwillingly to take a stand on matters put before him in the Senate.

Can you give me one example of Obama voting "present" since he's been in the US Senate?

Obama's voting "present" was when he was in the Illinois state Senate, but while in the US Senate, he's on record for "not voting" especially in his second year waayyy tooo many times. (and this is just a very small sampling..)

During his stint as Senator during the 109th Congress, his "not voting" record inlcuded:

9/05/06 #231 ON Nomination of PN1594, "Kimberly Ann Moore, of Virginia, to be US Circuit Judge for Federal Circuit...and on 5/08/06 # 115, ON cloture on motion to proceed S.22, "A bill to improve patient acess to health care services and provide medical care by reducing the excessive burdens the liability system places on health care delivery systems." and on 4/25/06, #93, Nomination of PN1187, "Gray Hamptom Miller, of Texas, to be US District Judge for the Southern District of Texas."

That is what I hope... heh, my dad the liberal says it is all smoke and mirrors and that he is gonna do nothing.. so voting for "democrat" makes sense in that he is probably not gonna fight against abortion laws, while at the same time he is gonna renege on all his promises of socialism...

If obama is really voted in, I sincerely HOPE he would do nothing.

Ok Lula, so in the 109th congress Obama missed 11 votes, versus McCain missing 58.  51 Senators missed more votes than he did.

In the 110th Congress, when they were both actively running for president. Obama missed 303 votes versus McCain missing 420.  McCain missed more votes than Tim Johnson, who was in the hospital for 7 months.

How exactly does any of this demonstrate that McCain is a better choice than Obama for president?

You asked for ONE example and this exercise has you answering your own question and then some!

How exactly does any of this demonstrate that McCain is a better choice than Obama for president?

It you want to parse out Obama's  not voting, a picture might come into focus.....for example, his "not voting" for court nominees. Under the Constitution, the president's job is to nominate and his job as Senator is to give them a fair up or down vote. Obama is playing games, working for himself, power, and his party instead of serving the people and I find that just one more of his very repugnant characteristics.

Put all the Obama facts together and one can get a fairly good picture of where he'd like take our country...it isn't one that's agreeable to me.

I wonder, have you noticed that all the things that have been found out about Obama have been found out by people other than the mainstream media? Doesn't that give you grave concern? Having witnessed the media's bias and favoritism towards him, doesn't that lead you to suspect what else does the media know but is concealing until the election is safely over?

Chris Matthew's admitted he gets chills up his legs for Obama for pete's sake. Something is very rotten out there and for the most part, the rot is all over Obama and his side of the court. Nah, he's not my kind of President, not at all.  Mccain and Palin are light years ahead of Obama and Biden as far as the common good of this country goes.

Let's be honest - NONE of the four people put up by the two major parties should be withing TEN MILES of the Oval Office.

They ALL SUCK.

And you still never gave an instance of him voting "present" in the US Senate.

My point is, yes he's missed votes, just like every other senator.  It doesn't make him unfit or irresponsible any more than it makes McCain unfit.
