As I have said many times, Halloween is one of the best “holidays” for skinning.  There are so many skins in the gallery it’s hard to keep up, but if you don’t want to go searching for all these skins, and want a great desktop theme that is ready to go, then come check out the Rest in Peace MyColors theme . To find more information about MyColors, you can read through a walkthrough or view a screencast with more information. Visual Style and Wallpaper Thi...

Wulfn1 brings us her latest desktop setup with her Skin Thoughts and Reviews article.  I really enjoyed this issue as she is saying "so long" to  summer with this desktop.  One of the things that really caught my eye was the beautiful wallpaper she chose. In last weeks poll we asked what you thought of the WinCustomize Subscriber Skins so far.  Although the question was a bit general, it did some great feedback and your comments were welcome.  The yes and no votes were a clean tie at 77-77, with just a few people saying they never seen them.  This weeks poll is, “Would you like wallpapers to be in mobile sizes?”  The reason I ask is I get a lot of comments from people asking about mobile phone wallpapers.  I know t...

I wanted to play much more this weekend, but I did manage to get a few games in.  First up, I have taking on The Political Machine 2008, as I'm trying to get as much play in before the election as I can.  I'm also slowly progressing in Spore.  It's getting kinda old, but I really want to see how it plays out. On the consoles I played just a bit of Battlefield: Bad Company.  I was looking for a new 360 game to play, but nothing really caught my eye this weekend. So, what...

Yes….Monday again.  I hope all of you have a nice cup of coffee next to you, but for some reason I don’t.  Well maybe later, but right now it’s time for some picks from the weekend!

I have a 22" widescreen and a 19" widescreen for my desktop PC's.  I'm very tempted to replace the 19" with another 22", but I'm still a bit undecided.  I would like the bigger screen, just not sure if it's worth the investment right now. What size monitors do you have on your desktop, and do you plan to upgrade anytime soon?

McCain won this debate.  Obama was stammering and on the defensive throughout most of it.  McCain "schooled" Obama on foreign affairs while Obama was busy repeating attacks on Bush and old talking points. Democrats, you should have went with Hillary.

This weeks member spotlight goes to KittyMalone .  She has been a WinCustomize member since July ‘06, and has the rank of Master Apprentice.  Kitty has a very unique, and beautiful style that is all her own.  She has many works in various galleries, but I most know her for her work with WindowBlinds and in wallpapers.  Kitty has also been a guest on the WinCustomize SkinCast and currently holds the title for being the only one to sing on the podcast.  So be sure t...

As I said yesterday, the $700 billion bailout is a failure and waste of public money.  All democrats have done is complain, and as usual, offered no solutions of their own except to find a way to blame republicans.  John McCain has stepped up with other conservatives to offer an alternate resolution that won’t waste as much tax dollars as the bailout plan. “U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., may be throwing a monkey wrench into efforts to pass a $700 billion bank bailou...

The latest update in the Demigod blog at IGN comes from Dru Staltman and NateSimpson from Gas Powered Games.  They talk about the process of creating the characters featured in Demigod. " Imagine Hercules and Achilles locked in combat. The two heroes trading blow for blow in an epic melee. The heroes tossing each other through buildings, chasing each other across the fields of antiquity, and eventually a crushing defeat and valiant victory. This epic combat is something that would be f...

One of the first people I really started following on WinCustomize for icons was Jairo Boudewyn , know as JairoB.  JairoB has been a member since 2001 and is in the top 20 skin artists on WinCustomize.  JairoB has an amazing gallery filled with icons and wallpapers, much of which has a style which is a signature to his work.  If a new application came out, it seemed that JairoB was one of the first to create a whole new icon for it, many times which was better than the original...
