Hey look….Monday is here already. I’m already loaded up with some Pumpkin flavored coffee today, so I thought it would be a super time to recap some of the skins that came in over the weekend.
We have many Stardock developed and published titles on sale this month. You can grab these great games starting at around $5.
If you are needing your weekly skin fix then the wait is over! This Week in Skinning is up and has another great variety of featured skins from our awesome community. As always, this is just a small fraction of skins from the past week, so take some time and check out the galleries for some really cool skins. This Week in Skinning–October 8th
Happy Friday folks! This is a great time of year as both the weather is getting cooler, and the skinning is increasing! Lets first start off by saying a late congrats to WOM and Hankers for their promotion to Super Wizops, and we should have a new round of WC promotions coming up shortly too. Now for this weeks picks! Galactic Civilizations II is an award-winning game from Stardock, and in my opinion one of the best turn-based strategy games out there today. If you don’t already have it, or know someone who doesn’t, now is a great time to grab GCII for just $8.95 from Impulse. http://www.impulsedriven.com/gc2
Let me first apologize for my lateness as I was certain I made this news post months ago, but apparently I didn’t, and these two deserve the recognition. Hankers and WOM are both long-time members of not only WinCustomize, but the general skinning community. They have been volunteer mods on WinCustomize for years and have been valuable members of the site. I’m happy to announce they have been promoted to Super Wizops for their great work and dedication to WinCustomize....
Time again for a new desktop screenshot thread, this time for the month of October! Put together your favorite skins and snap an image of the screen and post to the forums and show off your cool desktop to other members. October Desktop Screenshots
Welcome to a new month, and to start it off while at the same time ending the week, we have the latest edition of This Week in Skinning. This was a difficult one as there were way more skins I wanted to feature than I had space for. This Week in Skinning–October 1st
Alright, a new month is upon us! This was an especially super week for skin submissions with a bunch of new submissions in many galleries across WinCustomize. Since it is October, the Halloween-themed skins are starting to slowly make their appearance, and I hope to see more soon. We also had quite a few updates this week, so be sure to fire up Impulse and look for updates for DeskScapes and ObjectDock Plus 2! Now for this weeks picks! Stripe Poker by ...
Microsoft has released the final version of Windows Live Essentials for Windows. This includes apps such as: Windows Live Messenger Live Writer Photo Gallery Live Mesh (Sync) and more… You can download the free installer at download.live.com .
The latest beta for DeskScapes 3.2 was released earlier this week , and one of the new features is a level slider on some effects in which you can increase or decrease their intensity. Effects are cool on their own, but being able to adjust them even more is just another layer of coolness added. Remember you can apply effects to static and animated wallpapers in DeskScapes. Just note that the level sliders are available only on certain effects like blurs, smears, etc. Whe...
I have used this service for quite a while, so I’m pretty disappointed that it is being discontinued. Formally called Foxmarks, Xmarks was a free browser sync service that allowed you to sync bookmarks and passwords across browsers even on different platforms. Xmarks will discontinue the service in January, and they are giving the option to delete all your data now if you wish. I have removed all my data and uninstalled the browser extensions. Now I will just rely on Fire...
The Fall season is approaching, and with hopefully some cooler weather on the horizon, some of you may experience the beauty of leaves changing colors for the season. I'm starting to change my wallpapers over to ones more seasonal, so I wanted to post some links so you can easily search and find some Fall and Autumn inspired wallpapers. https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/all/search/autumn https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/all/search/fall
Well maybe skinning isn't the correct word for this. How about "customize" your browser start page? I have used iGoogle for ages as my browser start page. It displays some news headlines, a few RSS feeds, my inbox, weather info, etc. So back to the question. Do you "customize" your browser start page? Post a screenshot if you do!
