We discussed last year how many travels plans were cut due to the pandemic, so I thought it would be fun to check in and see if anyone has started making any travel plans yet. As I mentioned in that post, we had several cruises cancelled, and took a break from planning for at least the rest of that year. Since the cruise industry is still being shut down by the CDC, we hope that lawsuits by the state of Florida and the pressure from other governors and the industry associations will get thi...

It’s a sad day for sci-fi fans around the world in learning that Leonary Nimoy passed away today at 83. Last year he announced he had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and was admitted to the hospital earlier this week with complications from that. Sadly, he passed away this morning at his home. Leonard Nimoy is most famously known for playing the role of Spock in the Star Trek franchise. Born in Boston in 1931, he started acting in local theaters at the age of 8 and eventually mad...

The picture below shows my latest attempt at growing a pineapple plant. We’ll see what comes of it, but I do enjoy trying to get fruits and vegetables going, even if it’s in just a simple container. I would really like to have a nice garden where I could plant several things, but where we live now really doesn’t give me a lot of opportunity to do that. Does anyone here keep any type of garden, and what types of items do you have in it?
I admit I like watching videos on YouTube. There's a lot of great information that is available, along with lots of entertainment available as well. I would say the majority of my viewing is done on my iPad, and I have quite a few channels that I subscribe to so I'm always up to date on the latest videos from the people or company that uploads to it. Some of mine: Sensible Prepper - Good channel for practical prepping and general outdoor gear reviews. Sootch00 - ...
I read a list of more '80s movies being remade, and I just need to make it clear that this needs to stop. So many of these are great movies that just need to be left alone, and not remade with some mediocre actors. https://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/yahoo-movies/80s-movie-remakes-214713917.html Couple of examples: Escape from New York Fletch The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! Interesting news today about Star Wars and the expanded universe in regards to the future stories in Star Wars. " In order to give maximum creative freedom to the filmmakers and also preserve an element of surprise and discovery for the audience, Star Wars Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same story told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe. While the universe that readers knew is changing, it is not being discarded. Creators of new Star Wars entertainme...
Yeah, it's not very wise to tweet terrorist threats to an airline on Twitter. The Dutch girl ended up being arrested for this .
I'm definitely not. I do like to drink wine, but I am not that knowledgable in types and pairings and whatever else people tend to do with their wine. The favorite type I like to drink is Sangria, but we also have some really great wine that comes from a Lakeridge Winery which is here local in Florida. Do you drink wine? If so are you an expert, or just someone who likes to drink?
Amazon has announced that the yearly price for Amazon Prime will increase from $79 to $99 starting this year. Amazon Prime gives you free two-day shipping, no minimum order size, unlimited streaming of movies/TV, and more. It has been $79 for many years now, and I’ve subscribed myself for quite a few. Now I don’t think $99 is a terrible price increase. It’s most likely still a good value if you purchase a lot of stuff from Amazon. For me though, with the addition o...
I have a Keurig machine, and I use the refillable K-cups which I fill with whatever coffee I decide to buy at the grocery store. It's much cheaper than the packaged K-cups, and in my opinion, tastes about the same. It seems Keurig is tired of 3rd party coffee brands using their system. "Green Mountain has announced a new anticompetitive plan to maintain its monopoly by redesigning its brewers to lock out competitors’ products. Such lock-out technology cannot be justified ...
Like the title says, what's your favorite food or dish that you just can never get enough of? Mine? Well I'd probably say chili.
