Arizona signed into law a new “controversial” law which makes it a crime to be an illegal immigrant.  Strange, because I thought that being illegal in the first place was a crime.  With more and more violent crimes being committed by illegals, an increasing drug and smuggling trade, and virtually nothing being done by the federal government, Arizona has taken the right step.

Obama has had a fit because illegal immigrant are a big part of his base of the entitlement class, and if they aren’t here, they can’t support him.

What do you think?

IMO ICE should be sending a few of it's trucks to these rallies. What a great place to begin to enforce the law.

edit:

If law enforcement knew the dates, times, and places of a big "rapists convention" or "burglar's social", wouldn't you want them to go check it out? What is it about the word "illegal" that creates inaction among law enforcement people?

So far today, SOS - 'RAAAAAAAAAAACISM!'

I find it interesting that the folks who had no problem with the NBPP thugs in Philly, who committed actual voter intimidation based on racial profiling, are all up in arms about theoretical potential intimidation based on racial profiling which is explicitly disallowed in the law.

These are the fruits of identity politics, in which some identities are better than others.  MLK, for all his faults, would be turning in his grave, assuming he really meant the things he said.

The modern day "Civil rights" leaders have turned their backs on MLK.  They beleive a person should be judged by the color of his skin and the content of his character should be ignored.

Ted- I believe that they profit from the victimization role, and not just the "Civil Rights" leaders. Any group can make their issue seem more relevant if they are somehow "perceived" as being less than others. These are the people perpetuating this fear/hate to line their own pockets, and give themselves power. People need to wake up and scrap this crud of the bottom of their shoes. It never fails to amaze me that hard working people will hand over money to rat-bastards, who never did an honest days work in their life, just to have them create an aire of victimization.

Yup, Nitro.. in othe words: "Victim=Respect"

on May 02, 2010

You're close:

Self-proclaimed potential victim of racial profiling or actual illegal alien = you owe me respect and my rights trump your rights.

Actual victim of a crime = you owe me no respect and my rights are secondary to those of the perp.

Such is America (a continent, remember, not a country) these days.

Ironically, that is basically the same statement I made 15 months ago.

The Suns have decided to wear their 'Los Suns' uniforms for tonight's playoff game, something I think they would have done regardless since it happens to fall on Cinco de Mayo, but they're playing it up as a political statement against the law rather than a nice gesture to the Hispanic community.  Disappointing, since I'm a big Suns fan, but hardly surprising.  I'm going to suggest, if they win, that they commission some 'Phoenix Political Scientists' uniforms.  If you get my drift.

Actually, the uniform idea was the Suns owner Bob Sarver's.  Tucson-boy-made-good, limousine liberal of course, bought the team about 5 or 6 years ago.  Was famous early on after the purchase for sitting in the front row & constantly waving a giant foam '#1' finger, obstructing the view of the folks in the premium seats just behind him.

Given that 60% or more of the state's residents favor the law, he's just changed fingers.

Hey, they are going nowhere anyway.  Lakers are going to the championship (but I think Cleveland will win this year).

Others are taking notice.  In a less than good way.
