In case you didn't hear, an islamic Nigerian man tried to "blow up" a Detroit bound airliner on Christmas Day.  Fortunately, nobody but the terrorist was hurt and he is currently being held by American officials.

In my opinion, this was just a test-run by a moron follower just to test the system.  Something big is coming without a doubt.

Here are some interesting things about this story:

Yes, you read that correctly.  Two of the leaders were released from Gitmo, into a "art therapy rehabilitation program".  You can't make this stuff up.  Will people who want to close Gitmo realize that these people are dangerous, and they always will be?

I fear you are correct about the test run.

ID I belive you may be right. This guy bragged that their are more. It would appear the feeling of security, so hard to regain after 9/11, is slipping away. BTW, I flew this exact route in September (Amsterdam to Detroit, I had connected from Bahrain). I had to give a pretty in-depth interview, despite showing my retired military ID and US government contractors ID, in addition to my passport. My bags were x-rayed then opened and searched in front of me. I have no problem with this, but apparently Nigerians face less scrutiny.

They have an inside man in the whitehouse.

They also know how weak Obama is which makes them even more bold, and that he really doesn't believe in "fighting" terrorism or whatever they want people to call it

How many days did it take him to address the nation about this?

Tell me, did the terrorists know how weak Clinton and Bush were with 9/11? Were they any less bold? Quite frankly, in my opinion, they have been just as bold as ever.

....are you serious? Unbelieveable...ridiculous...

fear

I'm curious, did you fear as much under Bush's presidency, because many of the same policies for security are in place from that administration. Btw, I'm reminded of a quoe:

"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment." Marcos Aurelius

Both Saudi nationals

Need we any further support for it being time to tell the Saudi's to get their shit in order? Repeatedly we've had people coming out of Saudi Arabia linked with AQ. If nothing else, they should look into it deeper. I mean really, come on.

The worst part ID was that the mans father had contacted the US offices claiming his son was becoming very radical and that he feared he would try to do something and he wanted help to find him and bring him home yet the guy still managed to get on a flight.

What I have yet to decide is who is dumber, the bomber who could not blow himself up and instead ended up burning himself or Napolitano, Homeland Security Secretary, who first claimed our security system worked then changed her tune.

They have an inside man in the whitehouse.

Now that's comedy, too bad some people don't know a joke when they see one.

....are you serious? Unbelieveable...ridiculous...

Dude, seriously. Grow up. Get a clue, it's called a joke, it's meant to be funny. Losen up buddy.

Tell me, did the terrorists know how weak Clinton and Bush were with 9/11? Were they any less bold? Quite frankly, in my opinion, they have been just as bold as ever.

Talk about 2 different situations. Come on AJ, this one is obvious. During Bush's Administration no one expected something like this to happen even though we had reports that indicated the posibility. We don't really know how bold Bush was at the time because nothing had happened yet. We were weak at the time, because we thought we were untouchable, we thought nothing this big could ever happen to us. We were arrogant at that time. But with Obama things are different, the attack already happened and we are at war with the enemy. During Bush's 8 years he was determined to prove to our enemy that we would not back down, Obama on the other hand wants to be friends with them, he won't even use the word terrorist and things like that. Obama has shown weakness and the fact that you ignore that is even scarier. Obama is not bold, he is an act. Obama depends on his ability to talk a good talk but once his bluff is called he backs down and blames the previous Administration for his failures.

It's actually kinda funny how often Obama blames the previous Administration for his inability to produce positive results yet he gives himself a B+ for the good things that happened thanks to some of Bush's policies. Talk about hypocrisy.

I'm curious, did you fear as much under Bush's presidency, because many of the same policies for security are in place from that administration.

It's about the enforcement buddy. In case you don't remember, many plots were foiled during Bush's Administration but so far 2 attacks have been attempted with one being successful and the other being a failure only because the terrorist was an idiot. And in both cases, there was enough evidence of a possible attack to stop them both. So it's not about implementation, it's about enforcement. Basically what this Administration is doing is allowing these policies to fail to use as proof that the previous Administration's policies sucked. That's a shame considering they are willing to allow people to be hurt just to deal a blow to the opposing party and what's even worse is that people like you are OK with this.

Need we any further support for it being time to tell the Saudi's to get their shit in order? Repeatedly we've had people coming out of Saudi Arabia linked with AQ. If nothing else, they should look into it deeper. I mean really, come on.

I'm glad you agree this Administration is failing in this as well.

today on the news they were discussing the need (or not) for racial profiling.  Of course the liberal guest said it was unconstitutional yet couldn't answer some very basic questions regarding the fact that almost all the problems are linked to the extremist Muslims.

What kills me is the fact that there were red flags on this guy including his own father who alerted the authorities and he wasn't searched.  He was on some list for suspected ties with the Muslim extremists and yet still wasn't searched.

My son who is a typical young white male from KY is searched every single time he flies with a certain airline.  My husband, with the same name is also searched.  Every single time!  They pull them both out of line and search them.  And every single time we complain.  They did it again last week when my son came for a visit.  They were very rude and condescending until his wife with a very strong Kentucky twang complained.  Unbelieveable!

Yet, this other black young man with Muslim ties got on the plane headed to Detroit without being searched even tho his name was on the list.  I say...go for the racial profiling.  It makes much more sense than patting down a Christian white young man every single time he flies.

Yes, actually osama mentioned how weak Clinton was and said it gave them strength.

"However when...(many) of your soldiers were killed in minor battles and one American pilot was dragged in the streets of Mogadish, you left the area carrying disappointment, humiliation, defeat, and your dead with you. Clinton appeared in front of the whole world threatening and promising revenge, but these threats were merely a preparation for withdrawal. You have been disgraced by Allah and you withdrew; the extent of you impotence and weaknessses became very clear"

KFC, I'm going to disagree with you here.  I don't agree with racial profiling because that can be too easily turned on it's head against christians, conservatives, democrats whatever opening the door to oppression. In fact it's probably BECAUSE of racial profiling and the animosity against it that prevented this guy from being searched.  He was clearly on the list and wasn't flying under an alias which means it was plain as day.  Bottom line is he is a suspect on a terriorist list and security did nothing.

Maybe Biden was right *shudders*?  Took 6 months for Napolitano to show the world that the Obama administration adopts the "let's hug a terrorist" program and within 6 months of this they tested the system?

Nobody should worry too much about this Nigerian. He has lawyered up (no way to get more intelligence info now) and will now receive the best legal defense US taxpayer money can buy under the same laws that he pissed on 4 days ago. Liberals can rest easy, one of their own is safe now. Worst case he gets a nice room with 3 square meals.

I love how the left is blaming Bush for this one too. This administration couldn't wait to change any of the previous administrations policies when they got in. Will this administration take responsibility for anything that doesn't get them a vote?

on Dec 29, 2009

It takes intelligence to recognize non-slapstick humor.  LIberals dont have it.  That is why they dont laugh.

Can be AD?  It apparently already has been (spy on a conservative today!  And email obama!).  Sad and prophetic, and now true.

NC, like the sheep on Animal Farm, the left only bleats what it is told to.

IMO Conservatives that support racial profiling should rethink it in a hurry!  It wasn't long ago that Napalitano sent out an official memo putting all Tea Party goers and supporters on the list.  Reid stated in public that those who didn't support the UHC were equivalent to those who support slavery.  Do we not remember the 'report Obama opposition gov website"?  This stuff is happening and racial profiling can be used against the American population faster than the ink would have to dry.   There are other examples as well all in ONE YEAR!!!!!

Stick with CIA and FBI and other internation agencies doing their job and security getting their act together

Right because he's on the 'watch' list er rather the 'no-watch' list?

on Dec 29, 2009

I agree with AD about racial profiling.  Don't get me wrong, I understand were everyone is thinking and that it is radical muslims so we should screen them, but Hitler started instituting laws against groups that people didn't trust, didn't like, or didn't care about. Once these laws were functioning he was able to institute similar laws against other groups

on Dec 29, 2009

Racial profiling??? Give me a break. Religion profiling maybe. What has his race got anything to do with it?

Also how on earth did he get a Visa if he was on a watch list. The system broke down badly.... Again
