Every day I visit tons of website, forums, and social networks for all types of topics, most of which are technology based in some sort of form.  This election cycle has really brought out the best of the liberal “group think” mentality regarding Obama.  On just about every social network Obama is praised as “the one” and any hint of disagreement with his policies or ideals is immediately responded with accusations of racism, or just plain insults.  Anybody who wants to claim that liberals are tolerant to others, please give me a shout because I can quickly debunk that.  Even here on our network of sites, there have been insults tossed at the slightest hint of either supporting McCain, or being against Obama.  I’m certainly not saying conservatives don’t dish out their fair share, but the mentality of liberals has once again bordered on the insane and hateful.

It’s tough being a proud conservative, as I will say what I think regardless of what the group and mob mentality is.  The real shame is so many people, especially bloggers in the tech area, are afraid to do the same.  I have received so many private notes and comments in support of standing up for conservatism, it’s almost crazy.  The best comparison I can make is how conservative actors in Hollywood are often ridiculed or turned down for roles because of their conservative beliefs, and the same mentality is going on right now in the blogosphere.  Conservative bloggers, some of which can be considered A-list are having to remain silent about their thoughts on Obama and McCain, simply because they are afraid of retribution from their employers or just not being able to pickup work from other sites.  It’s a shame, and it’s more telling about liberals than it is anything.

I am a conservative, I don’t like Obama, and I will never let anyone intimidate me because of that.

The wiki selection I chose left the actual links and footnotes in. Those are from the actual authoritative sources.

hardly.  Shall we try again - debate 101 for you?

He's a better lier than Clinton.

I meant other than that

Carter is still regarded as the worst president in my lifetime, and probably will rank up there with Harding and Grant as THE worst.

Congrats, Bush took the crown for all and all time.  And you lived to see it!

on Oct 31, 2008

We've been lied to, and we know it.

We've been ripped off, and we know it.

We've seen the will of the people overturned, stolen, and defrauded, and we know it.

And we know who's responsible and who their friends are and we won't be voting for them ever again.

The pendulum is swinging back. You, as a conservative, can look forward to the return of the Constitutional guarantees of our forefathers, the return of proper regulation and oversight over financial institutions, the end of state sponsored torture, and return of habeus corpus, and a guarantee that your health care will exist in between your jobs, despite pre-existing conditions, and no matter how old you are fortunate to live to.

Not a bad position to be in for losing an election. You're welcome.

Still working on those busted talking points, eh?

Do you believe that 0bama is an honest person?  He makes the Clintons look honest.  LOL.

The problem is, you can't blame everything on Bush no matter how much you try.  The financial mess is not the fault of Bush, democrats voted in support of the war, etc.

Almost time, sincere and geniune American hero who has spent his life serving his country, or... snake oil salesman who has done basically.. nothing.

A quintessentially intelligent, moral man who is the epitome of the American Dream and is sacrificing everything to try and help get us out of a mess he didn't create...

or

A doddering old fool of a man who's way past his prime and has sold out every principle he had in 2000 for one last chance at the brass ring.

PS  I guess you forgot that Bushco was built on (snake) oil.

The captain takes the credit and the blame.  You can't have it both ways.

I've never said they were SOLELY responsible, but the Republicans have had executive and legislative control for 12 years, through numbers, filibuster, and veto.  The buck stops there.

Do you believe that 0bama is an honest person? He makes the Clintons look honest. LOL.

You keep saying that, and yet, you have yet to provide ANY information impugning Obama's honesty whatsoever.  We have a long list of RNC gripes with the Clintons, but your hyperbole lacks any rational or factual basis whatsoever.

Since you keep repeating it, without substantiation, I can only assume you are just flame baiting with this.  Pity.

You know what? I could have said that very same thing....back in 2004!

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." - Bushie Boy

Sorry, but it's not that simple in the real world.  Frank, Dodd, Pelosi...I assume you can hold nobody else responsible for their actions?

LOL.

I have listed so many lies from Obama over the past couple of months.  If you want to sit there and say Obama is honest then then go ahead.

Obama has lied about taxes, abortion, his associations, etc.  Unbelievable.

Obama has lied about taxes, abortion, his associations, etc. Unbelievable.

You're going to hold Obama to account for NOT agreeing with the smears against him and call those lies?  You might want to entertain the possibility that...

His tax plan is on his site, read it.  Those are his intentions.  Congress will determine if that's what happens, of course.

No one gives a shit about the abortion issue.  It was settled decades ago.  If you REALLY want to stop the NEED for abortions, provide proper sex education in the schools and free and easy access to contraception.  No unwanted pregnancies = fewer abortions.

I don't hold Obama to account because of people he has known in his past any more than I hold McCain to account for actually BEING one of the Keating 5.  Both situations have been vetted and are IRRELEVANT to the current matters at hand.

I've met some pretty amazing people in my life.  I've even worked with some of them for years.  It does NOT mean I share their political ideals any more than I do even members of my family.

So, where are these LIES you speak of?  And more importantly, how do they even compare, for an instant, to how McCain has flipped his ENTIRE position on THESE SAME ISSUES you are speaking of?

McCain fought against Bush on the tax cuts for YEARS.  He only changed his mind for this campaign, because he had no choice if he was going to get the campaign money from the same people that supported Bush.

Etc. etc.

You're quite hypocritical in holding one candidate to a standard that is different that another.

And I NEVER said Frank, Pelosi, etc. didn't share blame for being lilly livered cowards in handling their end of this.  In fact, if you scroll back a few pages, you'll see I named them EXPLICITLY in my list of people to blame.

My views on Sarah Palin are that she was dropped into the race unprepared and not qualified (for many reasons) to be in direct succession to the Presidency, or even to be Governor of Alaska. I did so in regular English and in Pyratese parodying her and I do not apologize for that. Keep the inappropriate "sawbones" to yourself until you acheve my Academic achievements.

What is it about you liberals that makes you so caustic, you guys have no sense of humor at all. unless it involves ripping someone to pieces.

Our forefathers never guarenteed any of this.

May I present to you...

The United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

And in regards to our founding fathers warning us of banking graft like we've just seen...

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
Thomas Jefferson, Letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin (1802)
3rd president of US (1743 - 1826)

You might want to read these again, since THAT is what this nation is SUPPOSED to be founded upon.  Not FEAR and IGNORANCE.
