SpaceSector.com had an interview with Galactic Civilizations III Lead Designer Paul Boyer about Beta 2, and touches on some of the new features. " SS: So, diplomacy will be available on Early Access in Beta 2. What would you say is special and different about diplomacy in GalCiv3 from other 4X games? Paul Boyer: I think what makes GC3 special, when it comes to diplomacy, is the same thing that makes it special over all: the scope. Not only are there more things to trade, more treaties...

GalCiv 3 Lead Designer Paul Boyer had a chat with the folks at PCGamesN about the just released Beta 2 for Galactic Civilizations III. "New treaties and trade opportunities have been thrown into the mix, from embargos to the trading of strategic resources, and all of these can have an impact on the attitudes of other races. Slap the gruff Drengin with an embargo, slowly choking their economy, and they are going to hold a grudge.  “The mood will shift more based on the types ...

Back in 2012, I wrote an article called Lumia 920–Best Smartphone I Have Owned .  It’s gotten a nice amount of views and several pages of comments since then, mostly about Windows Phone 8. That was my second time trying a Windows Phone, and after a couple of years with it, I’ve gone back to the iPhone with the iPhone 6 and will most likely stay with that going forward.  I still stand by most of what I said in that article.  The Lumia 920 is a great piece of hardware, and Windows ...

The newest Master WindowBlinds skin from LightStar is called V8 Racer, and it’s available now on WinCustomize.  This is another cool and unique design, and one of my favorite parts is the buttons on the titlebars that are animated.  Overall, this skin has great design and use of color.  Made for Windows 8 and Windows 7, there’s a light and dark sub-style included.  If you are a WinCustomize Subscriber, don’t forget your 20% discount. WIRED talked to Stardock CEO Brad Wardell about Sorcerer King and the different approach it's taking in a 4X game. "In most empire-builders with magic and quests and psychopathic dark lords, you play the plucky up-and-comer. If you’re a dude, you usually look like Fabio, or if you’re an elf, because elves are always in these games, you’re an elongated, emaciated and peroxide-washed Fabio. You click some buttons, study some spreadsheets, hammer the &ldquo...

This is a new kind of 4X. In traditional strategy game terms, the bad guy has already won – civilization lies in ruins, and twisted monsters roam freely through the scattered wreckage. Not satisfied with his victory, though, the evil Sorcerer King is bent on destroying the world in his quest to become a god himself. We invite you to explore Sorcerer King’s unique asymmetrical design, and give us your feedback here so that we can make this the best game it can be when it ...
