WASHINGTON (AP) -- The economy showed even more pep than initially thought in the first quarter, zipping ahead at a 5.3 percent pace. But a less energetic housing market and high energy prices are now taking out some of the oomph. "I think we sort of had the last hurrah for the economy for a while," said Nariman Behravesh, chief economist at Global Insight. "We aren't going to see this kind of growth for a bit. We will see softening in the economy, but there's no reason to be pessimistic...

The countries most liberal court has one again made way for islam to take over America. This is unbelievable. A federal appeals court in California has ruled that public schools can require children to learn about religion...as long as the religion is Islam. Investors Business Daily reports that the notorious Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled the state can require students to participate in "Muslim role-playing exercises." The exercises include: Reciting aloud Muslim ...

The so-called global warming hasn't killed one person. Terrorism has killed countless numbers. I guess it confirms that Clinton had no reality to the dangers of terrorism. Former US President Bill Clinton noted that global warming will pose a greater risk than terror in the future and added that all countries should take precautions in this frame. Talking to a graduating class of the University of Texas' Lyndon Johnson School of Public Affairs, Clinton made some warnings about gl...

House and Senate GOP conferees finally agreed yesterday on extending the 15% tax rate on dividends and capital gains for two more years through 2010. This means you can expect lots of media and liberal rhetoric about "the deficit" and "the rich," but the real news is how well these lower rates have been soaking the rich to fill government coffers. The latest evidence is Treasury's monthly budget report for May that tax receipts were up by $137 billion, or a remarkable 11.2%, for the fir...

I bet you didn't see this as the top story. Would it have been if it was a Republican? Where is Pelosi now, is she still talking about the "culture of corruption"? ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A congressman under investigation for bribery was caught on videotape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant whose conversations with the lawmaker also were recorded, according to a court document released Sunday. Agents later found the cash hidden in his freezer. At one audiotaped meeting, ...

I see they are trying to play the victim card here. Good to see a judge making a good decision on holding these people. TAMPA - A judge revoked bail for two Saudi men arrested Friday for boarding a school bus and riding to Wharton High. Initially, Mana Saleh Almanajam, 23, and Shaker Mohsen Alsidran, 20, were held in Orient Road Jail on bails of $250 each on misdemeanor trespassing charges. Circuit Judge Monica Sierra decided to hold them at a court appearance Saturday so investi...

These are the people who some Americans think will actually solve the immigration problem? Sen. John Kerry joined most of his Democratic colleagues last week in voting to build a wall along 370 miles of the U.S.-Mexican border. But he now says that after the wall is built it should be taken down as soon as possible. "I voted for it," Kerry acknowledged Friday while speaking to the New England Council breakfast. But in quotes picked up by the Boston Herald, the Massachusetts ...

I asked this question to our resident liberal, but as usual he will not answer the question. The media has already decided the democrats will win something back in 2006, and they will do whatever it takes to make sure they do win. It has already started with their "leaks" about the NSA and other stories which are looking more and more like they were possibly fabricated again. I really wouldn't mind the democrats winning the House back. My reason behind this is they have already stated th...

Democrats.....the ultimate hpyocrits. In 1994 Sen. Pat "Leaky" Leahy co-wrote a law that forced telecommunications carriers to build convenient wiretap features into their networks enabling the kind of telephone records collection now at the heart of the controversy over the National Security Agency's terrorist surveillance operation. In recent days Leahy has called the NSA's actions troubling and potentially illegal - saying they show that the Bush administration is treating Americ...

It simply amazes me how a radical liberal col can somehow link Iraq with the poor in this country. The col basically said if we take the money spent in Iraq we can buy Americans everything they want. I have heard this countless times with every kind of spending. The liberal philosephy is welfare, and don't succeed for yourself. Democrats have helped people stay poor so their voting base is secure. I have written before and many people agree. Being poor is mostly a choice. The welfare ...

I know you won't hear about this in the liberal media, but just think if this was a republican. More of the democrats "culture of treason". The US Senate is looking into allegations that a former US senator urged Baghdad to give a US company lucrative contracts under the much-criticised United Nations oil-for-food programme. This is the first time that a leading US lawmaker has been linked to the controversial UN programme, whose shortcomings have been an important element of the Bus...

THE WASHINGTON TIMES Published March 13, 2006 Audiotapes of Saddam Hussein and his aides underscore the Bush administration's argument that Baghdad was determined to rebuild its arsenal of weapons of mass destruction once the international community had tired of inspections and left the Iraqi dictator alone. In addition to the captured tapes, U.S. officials are analyzing thousands of pages of newly translated Iraqi documents that tell of Saddam seeking uranium from Africa in the...

As with most things liberal you just can't figure out what their real stance is on immigration. We know democrats want illegal aliens here to secure their voting base. I mean if we deported all illegal immigrants and felons, the democrat base would drop by 50%. We also know liberals supported the "day without an immigrant" which as all liberal protests go, it backfired on them. We can never get a coherent policy from the DNC about anything, so where do they stand?

Since I have been gone from the political section for a few months, I just wanted to share some things I have noticed. When a democrat leaks classified information that is useful to our enemy, they are considered a "whistleblower". When the stock market loses 20 points, the democrats talk about how bad our economy is. However, when the stock market reaches new highs, they are silent. The media has no problem called Nancy Pelosi "speaker", when they haven't even won an election yet....
