Yeah, it's not very wise to tweet terrorist threats to an airline on Twitter. The Dutch girl ended up being arrested for this.

Quoting Primal_Savage, reply 10She's Dutch...

Whatever.

No, not "whatever". The semi-national color of the Netherlands is Orange, its royal house is called "Huis van Oranje" , which translates to " House of Orange" ... thats why he said " she's dutch".

At any rate, here in the Netherlands there was a very clear opinion about the action, and that is " jeez how stupid can you be?" . They arrested her and spend a good afternoon and evening interrogating her.

She's stupid as all hell, but this should be $50 and time served type of deal.

I don't like ruining someone's life over a stupid mistake that resulted in no serious harm.

Also, I don't like giving the security state any more excuses to take away liberty.

No...it's a systemic ignorance of consequence.

She NEEDS to do time....if not to save her stupidity...[she's beyond that] but to deter all those eff-wits who have even less of a brain.

10 years would be a decent lesson.

They could even....

wait for it....

publicize it on....

twitter...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And teach the clinically brain-dead what reality is all about.

Quoting Island Dog, reply 5 It's a fantastic way to communicate with others, and get news, updates, etc.

I was doing all that way before Twitter, or home use of the internet even......Just sayin'.

I agree with Wizard, everyone was communicating in a more direct manner before all of the current technology that is available today.  Granted you were still faced with the same problem, trying to figure out what was pure information versus opinion and conjecture.

Thank fully there's once place its easy to tell its all opinion, Faux news!

Easy to say when its not you are a dear loved one who would be doing 10 years. Easy to say online and not to this person's face.

I think a lifetime of body cavity/strip searches at every airport she enters should be enough to keep her laughing about her "joke" for a long, long time.

The OP has nothing to do with nationality, therefore the use of 'orange' [nothing to do with the House of Orange] - there's no reason to take offense as that has to do with the color of prison clothing here, which has nothing to do with the House of Orange (which originally had nothing to do with the color, but rather the Province of Orange in Normandy).

Here, to make you happier: "I expect she'll tire of prison stripes fairly quickly."

Yes...it's easy to say....AND I would say it to a person's face AND I wouldn't care who it was...family members don't get a free pass.

A fucking idiot is exactly that, irrelevant of relationship.

Biggest thing not to do on Twitter is to sign up in the first place.

Yes!

True for the most part...but sometimes the idiocy is of a structural, chromosomal and/or genetic type...in which case relationship is not only relevant, but causal as well.

Stupidity is an inheritable gene ...

on Apr 18, 2014

I just realized that if it was her friend who did that then it's really easy to give someone trouble if you got their facebook/twitter and such account information.

If she's going to be punished for this, then that means that announcing things isn't the way to go. Being quiet and doing things in absolute secrecy is the way.

Jafo, you must be a bitter, angry person for wanting to punish people so severely for joking. It's just absurd what you want.
