Kokugamer.com has put up their review of Fallen Enchantress and gave it a score of 9 out of 10!

"Overall, the experience of Fallen Enchantress never dulls and layers will always feel a sense of accomplishment while playing. At first the game is a bit confusing, but over time the game gets better and better and becomes a huge addiction. The uniqueness of the game complimented by great yet simple gameplay and the fact that it’s easy to pick up makes the game fun and rewarding."

Is this a professional game reviewer? That article could really use an editor.

But congrats on the good review.

AND BLAND, !!!!!!!11.

Game deserves credit. It is not for everyone, but to know games like this are still being made only screws me over for more future gaming endeavours. It can be pretty good fun whether you just feel like stomping people, forging a powerful empire, or even just playing QUEST GENERATOR (the faction!). Where there are flaws there are mighty game gods striking at the game relentlessly with their mighty hammers, every strike of the keyboard forging another wrinkle out of the game.

cool, averages back out with the 7.8 or whatever it was - a solid 'B' all around ain't bad (can't wait to see it jump with the coming dlc & expansions

Well deserved overall score!

I have never heard of this site.  Why are the high profile review outlets ignoring Fallen Enchantress?

Your guess is as good as mine.  We've sent out over 100 review copies of FE so far.

Our non-games are getting lots of coverage (we're in USA Today -- today in fact) but for some reason we're having a lot of difficulties getting the game media to cover it.  IGN says their isn't enough interest in FE to justify a review right now given how busy they are with the Christmas releases -- even though FE is in the top 10  most popular games on Gamespot - which is in the process of reviewing it).

Quite unfortunate

I mean, hopefully there is at least one person with a decent enough interest in fantasy and RP that would be able to review the game ...

I think, perhaps, that some companies like IGN, are perhaps reluctant to review the game because none of their reviewers want to give it a shot (even the short, brief time-slot that most reviewers use to base their opinions on).

on Nov 14, 2012

Are they serious over there at IGN? They don't have the resources to review this game? That's a pretty sad state of affairs.

on Nov 14, 2012

The "not enough interest" excuse has never stopped IGN from reviewing any number of low-profile indie titles, so I don't know why it's stopping them now.

Good to hear that Gamespot is taking interest, though.  It may be enough to spur other sites who don't want to get one-upped by the competition.  Let's just hope they give it a fair hearing.

Ah, I have a bit of a knack at this so I'll translate for you:

"IGN says Stardock aren't spending enough money advertising with them to to justify a review of FE given how much money other companies are spending advertising for the Christmas releases"

on Nov 15, 2012

I would say that word of mouth is much more important when it comes to niche games. Minecraft or Dwarf Fortress had little to no official advertisement, yet they became quite popular.

What makes you think just because it's in the top 10 most popular games on Gamespot that they set the standard on reviewing of games? Gamespot is becoming another one of those biased for kids only nobody reads type of review sites. Very immature people over there anymore.

On the other hand Metacritic did get their 4th REAL professional review in and FE ends up at 78 which is around what I predicted overall after coming out of beta. A solid C+ isn't bad for a turn based game. Take a look at Slitherines/Matrixgames Commander The Great War the user base is slamming it pretty good.

Well, first, if you averaged all the game site reviews it would be mid 80s.  Second,  a 4 meta critic review average is Of limited value.  And third, a 78 on metacritic we equates to a high B (http://www.metacritic.com/about-metascores).  it'll be more useful she. There's a dozen reviews counted on metacritic.

Sucks about the games, but your other works getting publicised is great news (it was literally news). These programs look great, if I ever had to seriously use my computer for work I'd definitely grab a few. They make everything seem so much neater. And adding the start menu back allows me to upgrade to windows 8 in the future.
