Nice! That seems like a big step. I'm not a gaming guru, but I think FE will do well in the market. I've been heartened to see FE beta so well received, and hope for it's success as a profitable venture. I think the Elemental series has earned its right to profitablility, FE making it more deservingly so.

I might consider an upgrade to retail box. But only, and this might sound odd, if I have option to pay for the added cost (and perhaps a few dollars more). It's unclear from your posting if there will be a charge for the upgrade. Depending on how WOM FE goes, I'd been considering since late 2010 to purchase a "dummy" copy of FE anyway. Just cuz I think you may have earned the revenue. It might instead, be a better option for me to buy an upgrade to retail box if that puts a little extra money in your coffers. And the USPS could use the added revenue from shipping.

Mmmm...ham.

Anyway, is there a way to pre-prder the game and gift it to someone?

I bought E:WOM in 2010 so I'll be getting E:FE for free and it doesn't have an option anywhere to pre-order E:FE.

I am considering buying it for my brother as the game looks pretty cool and he liked MoM back in the day. Plus I'd like to help out Stardock  at the same time. Heck, I'd like to buy a boxed edition for myself if it's available too.

Gamersgate has that kind of gifting option and I quite like it.

There would be a nominal cost for shipping and such.

You can gift items in our store.  Digitally you just need their email address.

Hello,

I bought a physical copy of the Collector's Edition of War of Magic when it first came out back in 2010.  How will I be able to receive my free copy of Fallen Enchantress?

Thanks in advance.

Ordered. Soon my voyeurism of having to watch vids of FE will end

I am also interested in purchasing a collectors edition box as well So I can put it along side the Collectors edition of E:WOM that I purchased back in August of 2010

Frogboy, I think he is concerned because when we go to the link to purchase another copy it says this below, and as such it wont let us buy another copy for a friend.

Thank you for purchasing Elemental: War of Magic!

You're eligible to recieve Fallen Enchantress for FREE! We'll send you an email informing you of when you have access to the BETA. The BETA will also be automatically added to your downloads page when it's available to you.

Yeah, that seems to be the problem. There doesn't seem to be an option to pre order the game because I'll get it for free.

If I log out then I have an option to upgrade or purchase Fallen Enchantress. When I log back in, that option disappears.

If I pre-order the game, will I get immediate access to the beta?

What are the advantages of pre-ordering a digital download?

on Jan 21, 2012

Please Stardock, take my money - just placed my pre-order. I'm not worried about getting into the beta - just the final product will be fine. Thanks.

Ah, I see.  I'll check on this.

Not immediate access as the beta is going out in phases, and early customers of WOM are the first in.  Access will be granted in the coming weeks.

I want to get a copy for a girl gamer I know. She has so many Twitter and facebook friends, it would really help sell the game if she liked it. I will of course wait till the game is really good before I give it to her.
