Maybe I have not done enough reading or maybe I am just missing something. I had uninstalled impulse a while ago because I thought it no longer worked after being sold. I read post here that people are still using it to verify installations and update. So out of curiosity I downloaded impulse again and checked my software.

Here is where it gets interesting. I verified wb and it came up that I needed an update ( show prerelease versions unchecked). I clicked to update and I get a message saying my OD subscription had expired. Well that is certainly not true because I renewed it just a couple months ago.

What I don't understand is why is impulse telling me I need to update when I downloaded the latest version from the stardock store? (not the beta) and why is it telling me my OD has expired? Am I missing something. I just assumed if you had downloaded from the store it is the updated software, not according to impulse though.

Can someone explain whats going on here or point me to the thread that does.

Thanks

I had WB7 and SKS7 installed through Impulse, then I removed Impulse after that because I was told itwas no longer needed.  When I saw there was an update to WB I went to the Stardock store and downloaded the beta release and installed it.  Not only did it screw things up in XP, but it also created another install entry in Add/Remove Programs, I had two entries, one called Windowblinds, and one called Windowblinds 7.  This also happen with SKS7.  So evidently one app install has no idea that the other one was even there in the first place.  I am only going to install from the store from now on, never again will I use Impulse.

Hopefully when the devs finish with the new update/installer app and its testing, we'll all be able to heave a sigh of relief.

Does anyone know if the problems with the update for WindowBlinds have been fixed and if the Stardock Store is where we are supposed to download it?

I'm a little confused here, can someone post a link to where OD programs are to be updated now? And we are not to use Impulse for this, correct? If so, can Impulse be uninstalled?

Thanks,

Copperhill

Hmm, it does seem that this post grew quiet. However, I also have the issue with classic skin appearing after reboot. However, it doesn't happen every time! Windows 7 64, I log on with user name and pass, and I must use Windowblinds to revert to 'Aero' in order to re-apply a Windowblinds skin when it does occur. This morning, the PC booted correctly, with skin installed. Its just a roll of the dice it seems. LOL

tinbin,

Same here, Beta was working good for about a week then all hell broke loose, crashed and couldn't get it to work again. Reinstalled non-beta.

It sounds like you didn't update to the newer build of WB which resolved the login issues.
