For those who are having issues with it working after a reboot but not after a logout can you answer the following two questions please.

1) Which OS are you on (32 or 64 bit Vista/7)

2) Is your machine set to autologin on reboot?

3) Does a theme reapply by going to classic and then to a WB theme work after the failed skinning at login?

This version of WB has some changes to how WB starts up for forwards compatibility and it may be this is not working quite right in certain edge cases.

For anyone who finds it simply does not work at all could you also answer the above questions and also confirm that the WB about box does not indicate any problems.

1) Which OS are you on (32 or 64 bit Vista/7) Windows 7 SP1 X64

2) Is your machine set to autologin on reboot? No

3) Does a theme reapply by going to classic and then to a WB theme work after the failed skinning at login? No skinning fails altogether after reeboot.

THe "About" as I posted above shows all is installed and activated fine.

Well, it just told me my trial was over ( I had 8 days left) uninstalled and now will not turn on, at all.

This thread is about a beta only provided to customers.

It would however appear that the WB trial has expired (it was supposed to expire November 2011 according to my records), so we will be putting up a new build hopefully on Monday for that.

It will show up on https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/downloads.asp once it is ready.

I take back my previous comment. 7.3 began screwing things up. Started getting lots of out of memory errors when launching programs. I uninstalled the beta and reverted back to 7.2. Now all is back to normal.

Had a beta problem, solved on the next page.

cooperhill uninstalling the beta, a reboot and installing 7.2 worked for me.

JuniorCrooks,

I can reinstall Windowblinds, reboot and it will work fine, but when I do a second restart, it's toast. That's why I said it will only work if I never turn the  machine off.

After the restart, Windows Classic comes up. I did as was mentioned previously and chose Windows Aero from WB, then I could go ahead and choose another blind just fine. So the problem is one of WB not loading properly at startup, no matter which archived version I use. Even though I am running 7.19c, the loading at startup is compromised or bugged ever since I did the latest beta update.

Again, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Copperhill

It's so weird; the beta is going just fine on the husband's PC (Haven't put it on my Vista laptop yet; let him test it first), he's changed skins multiple times to see if it'll screw up but nothing so far.

I tried it I still cannot use it with MS Excel correctly, if a size the window to other than a full screen excell does not work correctly, if i change from one page to a different page it will not draw correctly, I was hoping this would be fixed I submitted a ticket on this but I guess it was ignored, I went back to the stable version

I submitted a ticket on this but I guess it was ignored

Nothing was ignored.

Neil Banfield has responded several times in this post, Stardock is looking into it and this is the weekend (support are off work until Monday).

Did not work for me either. Went back to 7.2 and it works fine.

I did the Impulse update.

Doc joined the ranks.

Rolled back with Impulse and all's well again.

Just because something isn't done as quickly as you deem possible does not mean it was ignored.

Not all problems can be successfully anticipated nor be fixed immediately. From past observation of Neil's diligence, he's been hard at work chasing down the gremlins and fixing them.
