It’s only been a couple of days since Obama was sworn in, and in that short period of time we already get a good sense of how far left this country is headed.  Facing an incredible financial crisis, Obama took his first days to make sure islamic terrorists in Gitmo will have the same rights as you and I,  and treated nicely, so they can easily go back to committing acts of terrorism, as so many before them.  It seems the terrorists have gotten their share of the bailout.  Also note you have people like Jack Murtha who says he will welcome islamic terrorists to be housed in PA.  Oh, and the reason the administration is giving?  Well, so the “world” will love us again.  Imagine that, your safety is being jeopardized just to impress people who will hate you anyways.

He also took the time to the make some orders to make extra punishment for “hate crimes” associated with homosexuals.  It won’t be long before people are prosecuted for criticizing islam or homosexuals, mark my words.  In this time we have also found out many of his top donors were recipients of governments bailouts, which by the way, Obama is pushing for a new stimulus packages, dubbed the Generational Theft Act of 2009 by leading conservatives.  At last count, his package will cost over $1.4 Trillion dollars and no has no realistic plans on actually doing anything to help the economy.  In fact, this package will ensure the collapse of the economy as we know it.  Liberals love this package because it’s more “free” money for people.

Now it’s no secret that Obama supporters for the most part are clueless when it comes to economics, and anything else associated with common sense.  They spend all their time whining and blaming Bush for the economy, when in reality, this is something that has been set in motion for many years beyond Bush.  Bush was horrible when it comes to fiscal responsibility, but I don’t believe he actually knew the results of what he was doing.  On the other hand, Obama knows exactly how to get socialism in the United States, and the ball is already rolling.

Bush ushered a new era of big government, and Obama wants to continue with an even bigger government, taking care of your every need, at least that is what they will tell you.

ID I think your despairing too much. Sure it will take a big slap in the face to wake a lot of people out of their "yes we can" trance. Unless Obama can get those check in the mail soon, that will be the first group to wake up, the next will be the ones paying for it, and finally his actions in office will jar more. A big helping of reallity can be good for the country in the long run.

How the hell did Murtha get re-elected? He calls his constituents redneck racists and offers a home for terrorists in his district. They deserve what they get. If I were a Marine I'd be embarrassed to have him as a fellow devil dog.

He might have worn a marine uniform and at one time WAS a marine and a highly decorated one at that, but he is in no way, shape or form anything like a marine now, and yes I am embarrassed by his behavior.

How are they islamic terrorists? If there's proof they are, then would it really be so hard to give them a trail, the same as anyone else? Or is it just that someone thinks they might be, and so wants to keep them locked up just in case?

If you have evidence against them, then give them a (fair) trial. Otherwise deport them (assuming they're not from the US).

That argument just doesn't hold, because bush was in power for 8 years, and so if he really wanted to he could have stopped things or at least not made them so bad. Yes others might be to blame as well, but that doesn't mean Bush is without blame.

As the ad on this page says, "Who's to blame?"  Are we gonna keep playing the blame game, because as you yourself said, "Bush was horrible when it comes to fiscal responsibility, but I don’t believe he actually knew the results of what he was doing."  In all fairness which politician ever know what they are doing?  It is all a matter of having the right advisors, and taking a chance.

As has been documented, he tried.  but unlike the Grand Duchy of Fenwick, Presidents do not have omnipotent power, so can only do what congress allows them to do.  Or not do when the filibuster is used.  Yes, the blame starts a lot earlier, and no, Bush was not Grand EMperor regardless of what you choose to believe from the willing bleating of the disgraced media.

Bush didn't help, no,; but LW's right; this does go back a lot further than Bush. I mentioned it in my post "On Liberals and Conservatives". Feel free to look it up.

"How are they islamic terrorists"?! Why must you people insist on being so deliberately obtuse?

Well, let's see...I'm assuming that US troops and agents didn't just walk down the street, arresting random Muslims, no matter what lies the paranoid lefties out there try to propagandize.

What is it with you guys and wanting to free people who hate and want to kill you, and destroy your way of life, so that they can go back to actively trying? Lincoln locked up known Confederacy supporters and spies, and held them til the war was over; what's wrong with that? Oh, and guess who opposed him in that, as they did in virtually everything else to do with supporting the war and the Union, including the Emancipation Proclamation?

The Democrats. Their history of treason is long.

When these Islamic terrorists go back to acts of terrorism (as has happened several times before, with released detainees who were later recaptured--or killed--engaging in their activities) and kill more innocent people, will you then be outraged? No. You're too liberal.

It's obtuse to want even the slightest bit of evidence that these people are in fact terrorists, and haven't been falsely accused?! Meanwhile your blind faith that there are never miscarriages of justice, and that all of the people detained will have been detained for good reason is ridiculously naive. Some of them probably are detained for good reason. Certainly not all though, and to believe otherwise is just fooling yourself.

Just ask anyone who's been falsely accused of a crime and arrested by the police whether they have 100% trust in the police (and any other law enforcement or military organisation). That's why making sure people are entitled to a fair trail is essential. Here's what isn't a fair trial: If the police arrested you, then a group of officers decided that yes you were guilty of the crime they arrested you for, and they kept you locked up in a jail.

But who cares if innocent people get locked up right? I mean so long as it's not you or anyone you know...

What a statement !!!!!

It flies in the face of the economic policies and common sense followed over the past 28 years .....

in three conservative GOP administartions with voodoo economics and trickle-down theory we achieved marvelous goals like the deindustrialization of the great manufacturing machine and reducing it to a great consuming monster, expanding the Nation's deficits to great hights and cherished disrespect of the whole world.

and in a lonely One liberal Dem's administeration we achieved a miserable economic expansion, terrible surplus, boring peace,  and meaningless world-wide respect and friendships.

I don't know why anyone would want to go back to that again !!!

you are right ....

Actually, I believe we are seeing the culmination of misguided and ultimately fatal policies that began more than eighty years ago.  Roosevelt's bunch didn't have a clue what might work to end the depression so they threw everything but the kitchen sink at it for nearly a decade without making a dent in it.  World War II bootstrapped us out of it & the New Deal took the credit, even though nothing about the New Deal did squat to get us back on our feet.  The expansion of governmental intrusion into and control of our lives that really picked up steam with the Great Society, accompanied by the philosophy that the government knows best what is 'good' for us, has finally collapsed in on itself.

Where's a good war when you need it.  BO's bunch doesn't have a clue what will work, either, so they're doing the same thing, this time with the added potential prize of a permanently subsidized/bribed majority of the electorate.

Sorry, but you are full of it.  I guess by "boring peace" you forget about the first WTC attack, Kobar Towers, USS Cole, etc.  But then again, if you can't blame Bush then they never happened, right?

Don't you just love how you liberals worry so much about what the world thinks of you.  Here's a secret, they don't give a rats behind about you.
