October is the month of ghouls and goblins, and aside from trick or treating or throwing a Halloween party, you can also “dress up”  your desktop for a spooky Halloween look.  Today, Stardock is screaming with joy as we present the MyColors Halloween them, which is free to WinCustomize Subscribers and Object Desktop subscribers.

This theme includes a creepy visual style to change the look of Windows with spectacular animations in the start menu and "please wait" dialog, along with a gruesome desktop gadget, and a freakishly designed icon pack with 64 unique icons, and wallpapers.  This is just about everything you need to transform your desktop into its own haunted place.

  • Object Desktop subscribers:  The MyColors theme will be added to your account automatically.
  • WinCustomize subscribers:  You can find a .zip file containing all the components in the Subscriber Resources area.

Best skin so far. Thanks Stardock

I don't get the skeleton either...

You need to provide more data.

What OS?

What version of WB?

No start menu animation here either, have tried both MyColors and WC subby themes. When open WB in SkinStudio the start animation is there in builder. I have rebooted, applied skin multiple times, applying other skins then back, but alas still no start animation. Even tweaked the frame rate of animation, too see if an edit to skin would make it work, saved and applied, still not there.

Just applied Outer Limits to see if still have start animation with it and I do.

XP SP3

WB version 6.3 (build 67 x86)

That's so scary I peed my kilt.

Seriously, really well done! Everything works like a charm for me so far.

And the smell of warm, wet wool, I mean what more can you ask for anyway?

The MyColors version for OD subscribers should show in everyone's accounts by now.  They were most likely staggered yesterday.  In Impulse, it will be under MyColors Halloween Desktop.

The start menu animations for XP need an updated version of WindowBlinds.  That version is being tested and I will give an update when info is available.  We didn't want to hold up the release since Halloween is closing in.

Still not showing. Nothing coming up in Impulse at all. I have even checked my registery, all updated and accounted for. Feeling a little bit put off now.

*edit*....O.k. Here was my deal. I had to make sure that Impulse was updated, then I had to restart it not once, but twice, and then Halloween popped up in my Registration page. Interesting little kink there, isn't it???

It's still not there. I'll reboot and try again. Just wanted you to know, this so far, this is not showing up for me, and I have no access for it. Edited: I rebooted, relogged in...still nothing. I'll try again tomorrow. At this rate Halloween will be over before I mighthave access to this theme.

Load Impulse, click on the StarDock icon in the upper left hand corner, click on update. Let the program update if needed, restart, the click on the key in the upper right hand corner, check and see if MyColors Halloween is there, if so, up date that registration( click on it to highlight, then click 'update' in the lower left) and then go to My Desktop, Halloween should be there. That is what I had to do.
