One of the ways we like to thank our customers here at Stardock is through our annual reports, compiled and authored by Stardock President and CEO Brad Wardell. This year’s report, as always, combines a look at Stardock’s recent past and its future plans, analysis of the software and gaming industries, and statistics and observations from a survey of thousands of our customers. Some of the tidbits from this year’s report: Stardock is interested in game consoles for the fi...
We have a discussion going on about what great space battle scenes there are in either a movie or TV show. You have big movies like Star Wars which had a huge space battle in Episode III above Coruscant, and Star Trek had some epic battles in both the movies and TV series. I thought it would be fun to get a post started and ask our community what they think are some of the best space battles and why. If you have a YouTube clip or specific movie/episode, be sure to include it. ...
A new month also brings a new desktop screenshot thread on the WinCustomize forums. This is a thread where you can show others what cool WindowBlinds skins you are using, along with other skins from a variety we have here on WC. Post your June screenshots to this thread: https://forums.wincustomize.com/454762/
I've been seeing lots of talk about WildStar being released today, but I haven't really kept up with any other news about it. Anyone playing it? http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/
The picture below shows my latest attempt at growing a pineapple plant. We’ll see what comes of it, but I do enjoy trying to get fruits and vegetables going, even if it’s in just a simple container. I would really like to have a nice garden where I could plant several things, but where we live now really doesn’t give me a lot of opportunity to do that. Does anyone here keep any type of garden, and what types of items do you have in it?
Well half the year is done, and if you didn't notice over the weekend, June is finally here. That got me to thinking what’s been going on so far this year on WinCustomize, and what we can try to accomplish in the remaining part of the year. Back around March, we had a very successful community project done called Metall Tech. After a rough start while trying to pin down the main skin, it all worked out and the authors here stepped up as usual and finished a beautiful suite of sk...
One of the things that really caught my eye with this WindowBlinds skin is the color. It really stands out but the contrast with the darker colors is nearly perfect and overall it's just a fantastic looking skin from LightStar. If you haven't already downloaded it, head over and do it now. I recommend adding this to your WindowBlinds skin collection today. Astor by LightStar
The so-called Smartwatch seem to be the thing people are watching and expecting to be the next big thing in tech. There are a few available now like Pebble , but many are waiting to see what technologies come from the big players like Apple, Google, and Microsoft. A patent filing shows Microsoft is working on with a rumored two day battery life. Devices like this are rumored to be focused on health and fitness, which makes sense as devices such as the Fitbit have been po...
With several "leaks" before E3, we do know officially that the next game in the BF series is Battlefield: Hardline. http://www.battlefield.com/hardline This takes the traditional battlefield setting and moves it into a more urban environment with cops and criminals.
We are back from a long weekend, and as usual it’s time to take a look at some of the skins and themes that came in during that time. It looks like we’ve had a nice selection of stuff including a couple of WindowBlinds skins. Here’s some highlights from the weekend, but be sure to check the whole gallery for lots of other great skins.

I thought I had a post where we could discuss Tropico 5, but I guess I forgot to make it. Well anyways, Tropico 5 was released today and the Tropico series is in my top list of favorite games, so I'm excited to play it. Tropico is a "dictator sim" where you create and control your own little island paradise with the heavy hand of government. Anyone else picked this up or planning to? Amazon Steam
Announced yesterday.... In addition to the episodes of a new Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm and Disney have begun development on multiple stand-alone movies that will offer new stories beyond the core Saga. Gareth Edwards will direct the first stand-alone film, with a screenplay by Gary Whitta. The film is due out December 16, 2016. Gareth Edwards blazed into the filmmaking forefront with his acclaimed work on Monsters, a film he wrote, directed and served on as cinematogr...
I admit I like watching videos on YouTube. There's a lot of great information that is available, along with lots of entertainment available as well. I would say the majority of my viewing is done on my iPad, and I have quite a few channels that I subscribe to so I'm always up to date on the latest videos from the people or company that uploads to it. Some of mine: Sensible Prepper - Good channel for practical prepping and general outdoor gear reviews. Sootch00 - ...
