Right on time as usual, we have our monthly feature from the WinCustomize moderation team.  They hand over their favorite skin picks for the month, so you can get an inside look at what the WC team is liking. August has already gotten off to a start, but I did want to remind everyone of our August Desktop Screenshot thread.  This is your opportunity to show off your daily desktop and highlight what themes, skins, icons, wallpaper, etc. you are using.  I use it to see what skins other people are using, and you can almost always find some themes you missed in the galleries. Post your desktop in the forum thread here. https://forums.wincustomize.com/360558

Last Thursday I was able to finally grab the Windows 7 RTM off of MSDN and get it installed without any issues.  I spent a great deal of Friday and the weekend reinstalling my applications and games, and restoring backups.  After all that was done I did made a disk image of the install, and everything was just about done. Here is my desktop after all that.  I haven’t had time to add any customizations, that will come this week.

I had a lot of house work to do this weekend, so gaming was a bit lighter than usual.  I also did a clean install of Windows 7, so I spent the rest of the weekend reinstalling my games, which by the way is so much easier installing via Impulse than looking for a bunch of CD’s. Anyways, I played a bit of Battlefield 1943 this weekend.  Can’t wait for the PC version. What did you play?

I almost forgot it was a Friday.  That’s a tough day to miss for sure.  This was an awesome week for skinning, as many of you got a taste of the WindowBlinds 7 beta that was released.  Along with many getting the Windows 7 RTM this week, I’m pretty confident skinning is going to get a great boost in the next few months. Ustream.tv released a new iPhone app that allows you to record video on your iPhone 3GS, and upload it to their streaming site.  While live streaming isn't available yet, it's still a cool way to share videos. Here is a quick test I did, with a quick tour of my home office.

If you are a subscriber to either TechNet or MSDN, then you are now able to download the Windows 7 RTM!  The downloads went live around 1pm EST and I can only imagine how many people are currently downloading at this moment.  I still have about 2 hours to go at the time of this posting, so hopefully by later tonight I will all be set up.  How many of you are downloading?
