So it’s been many months since Windows 7 was released to the public, and during my travels on the web, I have seen praise from so many people about how they are enjoying Windows 7 .  Some of these are even coming from Mac users which really should tell you something. My experience has exceeded my initial expectations, and I enjoy using Windows 7 every single day.  Performance has been outstanding on my main rig, which is obviously quite powerful, but I can say the same thing f...

Before we head off for the long weekend, I wanted to drop a reminder for the Spring 2010 wallpaper contest currently running. WinCustomize Spring 2010 Wallpaper Contest As before the rules are simple.  Create a wallpaper with your interpretation of Spring, whether it’s flowers, scenery, etc., and be sure to let us know about your inspiration in the description too. I wanted to take a few minutes and start posting some screenshots of the new configuration interface in ObjectDock 2.0.  It’s very user-friendly, but in case you haven’t seen it yet, this will give you a good idea of what it does and looks like. www.objectdock.com

SoundPackager 1.3 has been released today.  SoundPackager is an application that lets users change the default Windows sound scheme to one of many available for download. This is done by applying “packages” of sound files which allows you to easily change to custom sounds without having to change each individual sound file. Changing to a new sound package just takes a couple of clicks, and restoring to the default Windows sounds is just a click away. The v1.3 update includes: ...

One of the things I really can’t stand about my office is the mess of cables that are clearly visible to whomever walks by my desk.  As much as I have tried to clean and consolidate the cables, it still left a mess. My solution was to take a trip to IKEA and pickup this cable management rack I saw on Lifehacker. Installation just takes a few minutes, and then you have a nice cable rack where you can route and wrap cables around. With this I ran th...

At long last we reach the weekend!  This was an extremely busy week with some great news and releases hitting Impulse.  First up, we have Apogee bringing classic titles on Impulse including Duke Nukem 3D, Blake Stone, and more.  I hear Duke Nukem has been occupying the lunch-time LAN games this week also, so come grab some of this classic action.

Another release of note this week is Majesty 2: Kingmaker, which is the expansion to the popular strategy game Majesty 2.  This expansion brings the “Return of Grum-Gog” campaign with 8 new missions, a mission creator toolset, and much more.

If you are a Twitterer, follow @stardock and re-tweet this to win some Apogee games!

Another success story from another broke government entitlement program.  Just what we need, more of this! “This year, the system will pay out more in benefits than it receives in payroll taxes , an important threshold it was not expected to cross until at least 2016, according to the Congressional Budget Office .” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/business/economy/25social.html?hp

Definitely a good thing for democrats as their wish has always been a United States that is fully dependent on government welfare. Great article, take a read. “A Washington Times report underscores this shift. Last year, "for the first time since the Great Depression, Americans took more aid from the government than they paid in taxes," it has determined. Transfer payments — unemployment, Social Security, food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare and other forms of govern...
