Definitely a good thing for democrats as their wish has always been a United States that is fully dependent on government welfare.

Great article, take a read.

“A Washington Times report underscores this shift. Last year, "for the first time since the Great Depression, Americans took more aid from the government than they paid in taxes," it has determined.

Transfer payments — unemployment, Social Security, food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare and other forms of government welfare — grew $231 billion last year to just over $2.1 trillion. Meanwhile, individual taxes shrank $325 billion to $2.1 trillion, slightly less (before rounding) than transfer payments”

What a great excuse to get more money from those evil rich people.

Many people think the Democrat's days of slavery have changed, they have, well their tactics anyway. It is always amazing in highly Democratic areas (at least the minority occupied ones), that have been that way for years, yet few are lifted out of poverty. Their is a definite "benefit" to keeping people down and providing them just enough "hope" to keep them in line and voting for the same plantation owners wealthy politicians. The Democrats have done a masterful job at portraying the Republicans as the party of "No", the one keeping you down, while they give just enough crumbs to keep the populations whistling a tune, working the fields.

Look back at the years and see just how much time the Democrat's controlled Congress (both Senate and House) since FDR, even during Republican Presidency's. Only then will people understand who has done a vast majority of the social "shaping" of this nation. Of course they would have you believe they have a lock on curing minority "suffering". Check out the vote count on the 1964 Civil Rights act. But of course a little candy is much better than a dose of reality. Many people have the "slave" mentality. This includes all races. They eagerly sign away their freedoms, for a piece of the "free" candy, even if they won't get a taste for four years. How many times must folks learn there is no free lunch, someone always pays.  More people asking for the freebie, the less people to pay for it.

This administration seems intent on rewarding failure, while punishing success. We all saw the folks saying, "Obama is going to pay my mortgage" after the election. And you know what? They could be right. This administration has something in the works for people in foreclosure or late on their payments. What about the people that make their payments? What about the people that saved for the tough times so they could meet their obligations? Sorry, to hell with you, the reward is mostly for people without foresight or a sense of obligation. It's for people that knew they were buying a house that they could not really afford. It's for people that didn't read (or find someone that could read) the terms of their mortgage. It's call redistribution of wealth. Yes most like the "free" handouts, fewer like to pay the bill. But the concept does give a big boost to the Democrat's on election day.

It's called instant gratification. People don't play the lottery with the intentions to put away a few millions and live off the interest. They play the lottery so they can have everything they want instantly. Today's society is not about hard work, it's about the easy road. One look at day one of American Idol can pretty much prove that as some people look for their 15 minutes of glory knowing full well they can't sing for shit.

That has always been their goal.  When you buy someone, they have no place to go but back to you.
