I was browsing through the gallery and wanted to post some of the new skins from the past day or so.  The newest skins category is a great way to see what’s new in the galleries without having to check each individual one.

Everyone give a warm welcome to the newest addition to the WinCustomize moderation team.....LanTec!  LanTec has been a member of WinCustomize since 2003, and not only uploads to the galleries, but is also an active member of the community forums.  LanTec will be giving us a hand in the galleries, as well as keeping an eye on the forums for those occasional trolls and spammers.  Great to have you LanTec, and welcome!

Wulfn1 brings us her thoughts and skin review for this week.  This time she is focusing on a “red” desktop and accomplishes that with the help of the Thundera WindowBlinds skin.  She continues this desktop with CursorFX themes, Dock icons, and much more.  Read the full skin review to check out her desktop and links to the skins she used to create it.

I hope everyone had a very good weekend, and that it was full of sun, beaches, and tropical drinks.  Well probably not everybody, but I’m sure someone had that good a weekend.  Keep an eye out on WinCustomize today, as we have some special GUI Champs ‘08 news coming. But for now, here are some of my favorite picks from the weekend.

As I'm sure you have noticed, we had have been having some site issues with WinCustomize over the weekend.  It seemed to have started late last night, and then again into this morning.  We are aware of the issues and are currently working to get everything resolved as soon as possible.  During this time, you might encounter issues with the site.  Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience during this matter. -Spencer ID

Shortly after the release of Windows Vista last year, Stardock introduced DeskScapes  to users of Windows Vista Ultimate which added  featured like dynamic .dreams, triggered .dreams, etc.  We also launched Dream.WinCustomize.Com which is the official site to find more animated wallpapers (.dreams) for use with DeskScapes.  Later, we launched DeskScapes 2.0 which brought the ability for nearly all Vista users to have animated wallpapers on their desktops. How...

I really enjoy seeing new skins come through for RightClick.  There are so many things you can do with your desktop just by using RightClick.  If you are a super-minimalist you could hide the taskbar on the Windows desktop and just use RightClick all by itself.  You can add DesktopX widgets as well, and it’s very configurable to get it setup just the way you want it. Hard to believe, but RightClick has been out a couple of years now, so I wanted to go back to the start and take...

We have been getting a lot of submissions to the .dream gallery on WinCustomize.  Dream files are animated wallpapers that can be used on virtually any version of Windows Vista using Stardock DeskScapes .  There is a free preview version available that will run several of the included bundled .dreams, and the full version will run all the .dreams found in the galleries. Here are a few pick from the past few days. ,

Monday is here again.  What makes today even better is I have to do one of my least favorite things today….get on a plane.  While I nervously await that time, here are some of my favorite picks from the weekend.

Every month our group of moderators pitch in and give their picks of a skin or theme that stood out to them.  There was a lot of superb skins in August, and everyone seemed to have a difficult time narrowing it down to just one. WOM picked Water Falling on Rocks , which is a Vista logon by Outdoor Pictures. ”Another very scenic logon vista.  Really does this spot justice, as I've been there.” HG_Eliminator went with Mek-Attack CursorFX theme by...

Wulfn1 is back from summer break to bring us her “Skin Thoughts and Review”.  Although still a bit short on time so this one was a quick review, I’m glad to have her back doing these.  It’s always great to see community involvement and I would love to see more.  She is basing her desktop around the Castaway WindowBlinds skin, and goes from there.  Read her full review for the details.
