The recent publication of some once-censored parts of the 9/11 Commission report reveals that, in 1998, federal intelligence sources had shared their concern that al-Qaeda could be planning to use passenger airplanes as missiles on suicide raids against prominent targets in the United States. This is the first time we've heard that that the possibility of such a suicide mission was raised at the federal level during the Clinton years.

But the entire thrust of the administration's attitude toward air safety and security was based on the happy assumption that no terrorist would ever engage in a suicide bombing using airplanes. Now the question arises: Why did not the Clinton administration re-evaluate its air safety measures in light of the 1998 warning?

Well "we" (the righties) knew this all along. But "now" we have proof to stick in the "lefties" faces.

ummmm even thought clinton was president at the time, it was still BUSHES!!! FAULT!!!

This really shows the hypocrisy and proof that the left only cares about blaming Bush. You have all these lefties who talk about "prior warnings", and Bush "failing to act" about terrorism, but they say nothing about this.

Clinton worried too much about his numbers to do anything that might adversely affect his popularity. Taking military action or acting aggressively to preempt any terrorist actions might have done just that. It was his style to bide his time and hope he's out and free before anything bad happens, that it'll be someone else's problem. It worked.

Of course, all the popularity in the world doesn't convey upon you a legacy.

I knew about that. I still look toward Bush for some of the blaim just as mmuch as I blaim Clinton.

Prior warnings happend in both offices.

Why? Clinton had eight years in office before 9/11; Bush had nine months. His government wasn't even completely up and running yet.

Clinton is proved he was a pathetic leader then and only continues to display his lack of any qualities worth respecting today.

Let's not forget our country was first attacked with the first WTC bombing. Clinton did nothing. Bin laden has already stated he believed the U.S. was weak because of our lack of response.
