The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina had not reached the end of the week, but
that didn't stop democrats from turning this disaster into a political event for
themselves. One of the first outrageous
claims was made by non other than a Kennedy. Robert Kennedy claimed that
global warming caused by Governor Haley Barbour because he opposed the Kyoto
Treaty was responsible for the destruction. After that statement the rush to
equate the hurricane with global warming got it's start. However, since it is
absolutely false that Katrina was caused by "global warming", that didn't stop
the liberals from their attacks.
Now we have the leaders of the democratic party in the media everyday with some
other complaint or criticism of something. If these people would put as much
effort into helping the people into this tragedy as they do whining, New Orleans
would be nearly rebuilt already. There is plenty of time for investigations,
criticism, and any other actions that is needed, but for the democrats to start
this days after the hurricane show their only motivation is blaming Bush. This
is what the democratic party has reduced to, and they should be ashamed of
themselves.
Now the other tactic being used is the race card. We have former
Presidential candiate and DNC Chairman Howard Dean saying
this....
"Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard
Dean on Wednesday sought to turn the chaos of Hurricane Katrina into a benefit
for Democrats, decrying Republican priorities and telling black pastors in Miami
that race played a ''significant role'' in the storm's death toll. "
Howard Dean is a doctor, why isn't he in New Orleans helping people? It
seems he rather use the disaster for political gain and to use the "race card"
to get a few more votes from the black "community". There are so many
other examples of the "race card" being used that it's just not worth to the
time to write about. Many people here on JU have written articles about
the likes of Jesse Jackson, who seems to be leading the charge that black people
are not being rescued or helped just because of their race.
A new Gallup poll
shows a very small margin of Americans blame Bush for this disaster.
Which in turn shows the democratic strategy is backfiring as it usually does.
Americans will see that the only people turning this disaster into a political
event is the democrats, and it will hurt them come election time again.
