We have a good post going about what games you played in 2015, so lets continue and find out what games you are looking forward to in 2016. While it's still early in the year, I have just a few I'm looking to grab.

Hitman - I've been a fan of the series for a while, and although I'm not sure about their release method, I have already pre-ordered.

Ashes of the Singularity - I mentioned this in the other thread as I've enjoyed it even in Early Access, and I'm excited for the release.

Battlefield 5 - I'm a big BF fan and look forward to the next version. Not sure if this will be a 2016 title though.

XCOM2!!!

on Jan 07, 2016

Hahaha, great threads everywhere today!

I bought recently:

Ashes of the Singularity: so i hope it will keep improving and i will like it as much as i did Rebellion eventually

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak: preordered, hoping for it to be as good as previous Homeworld games

Armikrog and Broken Sword 5: while neither technically 2016 game, it will be the year i will play them, so hopefully i will like them (and finish at least one of them)

Aside of that, i guess i look forward to:

Cossacks 3 - screenshots look pretty and the gameplay shall be more of the same like the original Cossacks, which i liked. We shall see if it is still game for me.

next CoD - if i get new GPU and they stop the current scifi BS. I liked my modern warfare settings. They need to tune down the ADHD trend of the recent years back to levels of MW2 or Black Ops 1.

next Sins game - not expecting to be released , but hopefully we will get at least announcement in 2016.

Additionally i would kill for NHL game on PC. I hate EA for making it strictly console game.  Aside of that, i am letting myself surprised. I would not hate another Command and Conquer. Or a game inspired by the Star Trek Armada 3 mod for Rebellion....

Ashes of the Singularity is definitely a game that I will look forward to seeing grow.

Other than that, Doom, mostly because of nostalgia.

Things with fairly hard dates:

XCOM2 - Enjoyed the remake, but the price is kinda hard to swallow with the terrible Canadian dollar right now. But given the early release there's a good chance it'll go on sale sometime this year.

fault Silence the Pedant - Enjoyed the... what exactly do you call the things that release before a prequel but come after chronologically? Regardless, it's basically an interesting concept for an origin story for Ritona who hasn't gotten a lot of characterisation for a main character thus far. Apparently delayed to Fall to possibly rewrite a terrorist attack. For obvious reasons. Could've been worse. Could be August and made Aiyoku no Eustia which has a bunch of people with really bad PTSD from earthquakes and then have the tsunami happen a week before release.

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator - It's pretty optimistic to assume it's coming to PC this year, but there's a hard date for console. Apparently potential GOAT material according to some people playing arcades at one point but I gotta imagine that's horribly blown out of proportion or mistranslated. I mean, potentially best game on the market right now, okay, I could believe that. Unlikely you'd get a lot of people saying that, but I could believe it.

Disgaea (PC) - In a pretty surprising move last year, apparently this is getting released on PC. With improvements! Maybe end of chapter cutscene skipping? You all know what means! (okay, you don't, but humour me) Potential SGDQ speedrun! At ass-o-clock, but that'll get the current speedrun time down to a reasonable amount, so it might actually get seen outside of RPGLB. I mean, the runner basically always manages to get one of his games into the GDQs he goes to, even if competition's pretty low. (it helps that he's really good at the games he runs)

Fairly reasonable assumption it's coming out this year:

Stellaris - Presumably releasing this year. Can't imagine they'd have another 50+ dev diaries under their belt. Enjoyed EU4 a lot and space is always good.

Master of Orion (Reboot) - Kinda reasonable it's coming out this year, but minimal actual signals it is other than "it's pretty logical". Looks like it'll run on my potato? Kinda hard to say without a historical baseline. Even if it's bad, I gotta at least see how much someone's willing to beat a zombified corpse.

Civilization 6 - The rumours are definitely out there and they're not totally unreasonable. Serious concerns it might not run good enough on my potato, though. Civ 5 already runs pretty eh on it.

Endless Space 2 - More or less the same camp as MoO reboot. No signs, but certainly seems very logical. I actually liked ES1 a lot aside from the dryness. Problem is everyone hated that, so they're probably changing everything.

Corpse Party (PC) - The apparent mostly definitive version of Corpse Party? Only watched someone play through Blood Drive last year and that was interesting aside from Ayumi being most useless girl I have ever seen in a horror story. I mean, there's stupid and then there's next level stupid, and then there's Ayumi. She gives you a shred of hope that maybe she's not a total idiot. And then she crushes that horribly.

World End Economica Episode 3 - WEE apparently has good progress so we'll probably see it finished some time this year.

It's coming this year, right? I'M DEFINITELY NOT JUST REALLY OPTIMISTIC:

fault milestone two side:below - Got pushed back to late 2016, with a pretty "don't be surprised if it gets pushed back more" vibe to it.

Subarashiki Hibi - Um... maybe? To my understanding it's mostly done and recent delays have been to get an official release.

Mahou Tsukai no Yoru - Might get more translated this year with the new translator.

Seinarukana - Definitely won't get JASTed again.

Marisa and Alice's Trap Tower Remake (Western Release) - This is definitely possible. Absolutely.

Someone to break the August curse and successfully translate one of their VNs - THIS TOTALLY ISN'T COMPLETELY DELUSIONAL.

Looks like more delays on the VN front. Not that that's particularly new. Strategy side looking very good, though.

Total War: Warhammer.

Can't really look forwards to Ashes, already playing it.  If they both end up sucking, I'll just have to cry myself to sleep every night.

Ashes of the Singularity

Total War: Warhammer

Civilization 6 (Have played and liked them all except Civ V)

Will look at Cossacks 3, meant to have thousands of units, and kinda old-school, might be fun.

Doom - better have co-op though!

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Serious Sam 4 Not heard much about it for a while so maybe won't happen in 2016, but have had fun co-op over the years with previous versions.

Star Citizen (Managed to nab it for $30 but might not come out until 2017)

Rare for me to get full price/Early Access but I already have Ashes. The rest I would wait for a decent discount on unless finances change. Except perhaps a more minor discount for Civ 6 as I would love a good Civ.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands  -  I've played every Ghost Recon game since the original and while some have left me scratching my head, for the most part the series has been solid.  This one will definitely be a departure from the usual (at least going by the info so far available) so here's hoping it won't disappoint.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak  - Same as above.  The original Homeworld has always held a special place in my heart (HW2 does not exist!) and Cataclysm was a nice addon to the saga.  I do realise this game is not / will not be a 'homeworld game' (in the sense that it is a ground-based RTS) but at the same time here's hoping it will be a 'homeworld game' (fans of the original story might understand what I mean by this seemingly paradoxical statement).

and a soft maybe for.....

the Division  -  Here's hoping that this won't be just another garbage open-world FPS.  Tacking Tom Clancy's name to it really means shit to me.

Oh and if the BF and COD series just happened to fade into eternal obscurity.........that wouldn't be so bad either.......lol......(well one can hope! hehe)

I'm very much looking forward to Hearts of Iron IV, Ashes of the Singularity, and a little known project called The Imperial Realm::Miranda, which is a C&C-like MMORTS.

on Jan 10, 2016

XCOM 2

Total War: Warhammer

That's all I can think about.

Stellaris mister, Stellaris

Oh yes, I totally forgot about That Which Sleeps

on Jan 11, 2016

Seriously...

YOU IDIOTS!?!?!

No one mentions Torment: Tides of Numenera??

j/k about the idiot part, but it does look like it's shaping up to be damn awesome..

Also looking fwd to "The Mandate"..

I'm pretty casual when it comes to games tho, I'll try stuff as it comes out but generally don't know much about what's coming out ahead of time.  Everyone mentions Ashes - it'll prob be cool, but I'm looking forward to trying out SK first as it's been on my list longer and is more my casual gaming style...

Great thread, cheers..
