Yes, thank you for the quick update.

I'm in.

I installed this (WB 8.05) yesterday and the offending Windows update today and still got the blank desktop. I will remove KB2955164 until I hear more. (You didn't think I'd remove WB, did ya?)

KB2955164

That particular one was not included in the updates I got, not even as an option.

It sounds like the upgrade of WB didn't work right.

I would uninstall WB, reboot and reinstall a clean version of WB.

You are correct. I will do as you recommend.

Update - A fter reinstalling, whern WB tries to start all I get is a green screen - I have to hit the power buttton to escape.

I had the same thing happen to me... got a blank desktop after updating WB and had to uninstall both the Windows update and WB update in safe mode before restarting to a working desktop.  I reinstalled WB 8.05 and all seems to be working as it should, but I may leave the Windows update until another time when I have more patience for things that may not work correctly... have some issues going on and I'm feeling a bit cranky

The higher DPI issue still exists... I sent the support a detailed issue but it is still present in this version. Unusable on my surface pro 2 due to the ui of window frames being way to small. I also seem to have no text in start8.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this.

WB 8.00 through 8.04, all worked great for me.  OS = Win 7 Pro, 64 bit.  Installed WB 8.05 last night.  Installed it over 8.04. Installation went smoothly, no issues.  Everything appeared to work fine until I changed themes.  When I changed the theme back to Windows Aero, the taskbar and start menu were blue as they are with the aero sub-substyle.  The blue aero color remained even if I changed to any of the other substyles (architecture, characters, landscape, etc.).  That's not how 8.00 to 8.04 worked.   Any ideas?  I'm back to WB 8.04 and am okay with that unless there is something obvious to try.

Thanks.

Odd...I'm running Win7 64 bit. I did the upgrade to 8.05 over 8.04 without any glitches at all. Chrome is skinned nicely and changing themes is a breeze. This is weird.

Thanks Uvah.  Fortunately I've had no issues with 8.04 so I'm okay sticking with it.  I suppose I could try an uninstall and then do a fresh re-install of 8.05, but not sure there's much to be gained by doing that other than to satisfy my curiosity. Probably easier to just wait for the next maintenance upgrade or version.

Version 8.05 addresses some technical issues some members have discovered. One of which skins Google's Chrome browser whereas the previous version did not so...if you use Chrome it would be worth upgrading.

Thanks again Uvah.  I use Chrome and have observed no obvious issues with WB 8.00 through 8.04.  I also didn't observe an issue with Chrome and 8.05.  The only odd thing I've seen is the inability with 8.05 to change color schemes when I change aero substyles (post 11 above).  I hate to bother TS with something like this because the issue may be so specific to my system and it will go away with next release.  On the other hand, I would be disappointed if I didn't say anything and the issue was still there next time. Posting all this here in the news forum might not be the right place to hear from others. Would you suggest posting elsewhere on this board to see if others have seen the issue or know of a workaround?  Appreciate your kind attention.  You've been very helpful.
