Microsoft has announced several big changes to both the Xbox One and the Xbox Live service today.  First is the coming availability of a Kinect-less Xbox One which will be sold for $399, which is a $100 less than the current version which includes a Kinect Sensor.

Next, the restrictions that many apps have that require you to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription is also ending.  Previously, to use an entertainment app like Netflix you would need to have a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription just to use it.  That is ending, and will be available for all subscribers.

Other subscriber benefits like Games for Gold and Deals for Gold will also be appearing for Xbox One.

Oh, a little competition huh?

Ok, I'll see your "$400 is too much", and raise you "They'll have to pay me $100 just to take it from them".
