Adobe released another update for Photoshop CC today which introduced a new Generator feature.  I have only looked over this quickly today, but from what I saw this could be something that might be very beneficial to skinning.

“Generator allows you to create image assets in real time as you work, eliminating the tedious steps of copying, slicing and exporting each layer manually, and saving you hours of time. Simply add a file extension to the name of your layer or layer group, and Photoshop will automatically create a JPG, PNG or GIF from the contents of that layer. If you make a change to that layer, the file is immediately updated. This means that you now have a folder of images that are always up-to-date with your Photoshop design.”

I want to look further into this, but I’d also like others here to go over the feature and offer opinions on how this could help both new and seasoned skinners with creating skins and design.

I think it would be, if it can generate all the different file extension/types WB needs to work. I noticed this on Lynda.com earlier today as well, but didn't write about it because only jpg, png and gif were mentioned.
