PCWorld reviews ModernMix, and gives it a 4/5!

"it reduces the number of times you have to traverse the two halves of Windows 8 (modern and classic), which is well worth the $5. Being able to run SkyDrive, Maps, Camera, and especially Solitaire in a window on the classic desktop is addictive (as well as more efficient) for desktop users. "

"Why do we need resizeable windows for these apps anyhow? Ipad and android can not minimize. Even in desktop mode 95% of the time I am in full screen mode anyways. I only minimize to snap two windows side by side. And what do you know? Thats a standard feature of windows 8."

Probably timely to 'suggest' that a Desktop OS is not a telephone, and there are actually people 'out there' who need and DO have more than even TWO applications open at one time.

But, as long as the Vanilla 8 GUI is good enough for some bloke and his Android phone then all is well.

Meanwhile....those who actually 'do stuff' with their computers are saved by Stardock's ModernMix....

Exactly. As a skinner (term used loosely) I need several programs open at once. It'd be extremely odd any other way, for me.
