Microsoft has introduced the new corporate logo.  The last time this was updated was 25 years ago, and comes in line with the Windows 8 design.

What do you think?

Clearly they should have asked VStyler to do one for them.

Yep, and they should have had him design the Windows 8 GUI too!

Would look one helluva lot better.... and then I could bug him about the Start Button forever!

Guys, I hate to break it to ya....

That's not a Corporate Logo...it's a Corporate Nogo.

It has always been said that Microsoft was rather good with software but short on artistic ability.... now it seems [with Win 8's "don't call it Metro anymore" on the horizon] both abilities are in serious doubt.

Now if anybody wanted to know how lo Microsoft could go, they only have to look at the lo go to see it's way down there with the cellar dwellers...

..... and I'll bet Beelzebub is resenting the rude incursion into his depths....

Muuuuch better!

Think of the words "micro" and "soft".....

Doesn't really sound that virile does it?

Brilliant!!!!

And at last, somebody has stumbled on how MS got its name!!!!

Yeah, Bill and Melinda were laying in bed one night... his mind on one thing, hers on another.

Deep in thought, Bill pipes up and asks Melinda: "So what do you think I should call the company?"

Melinda, with her mind deep in yet another bedroom disappointment retorts: "Microsoft!"

They are getting more boring as time goes on. Where's some 3D dimentionality to it?

Most of my consultancy work is in Credit Risk modelling. Considering the world economy is currently embroiled in what economists refer to as K-Winter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kondratiev_wave), probably worse than even the Great Depression; I think their logo is symbolic of the next ten years of the business environment.

I like it but then again i also like windows 8 far better than windows 7, after having used windows 8 now for the last 3 weeks i'm looking forward to the new devices that will have it installed on it.

Boring. but then when has MS been known for their flair? So no shocker here..

I've never liked any of their logo's. I especially despise seeing their logo as the 'start button' on a skin. I don't care for seeing the Apple logo on my start button either. If I were partial to logo's at all, I'd rather see the ubuntu logo there and it has nothing to do with any preference I have towards any operating system.

Right on, Po, you hit the nail right on the head there.  When MS puts it there as a matter of course it's bad enough, but when skinners [who are supposed to be customising the UI] do it as well, I am totally bewildered and quite disappointed that so much work went into a WB, yet that key element is still a f**king MS logo .  In fact, no matter how good the rest of the skin is, I have stopped downloading anything with the MS logo/flag on it, I dislike it that much.

As for this new low-go, best we don't see that on screen at all.
