Brad and the Stardock crew are on a media tour this week, and RTSguru sat down with them and got a first-hand look at the upcomingElemental: Fallen Enchantress and Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.

“The combat and economic systems in Fallen Enchantress have been completely redesigned to offer a more satisfying gameplay experience while streamlining unnecessary aspects from the first game.  Combat is now based on the attributes of Initiative, Accuracy, Dodge, Crit Chance, Spell Resistance, and Spell Mastery,  which make for a far more complex system than the relatively primitive one in War of Magic, and will allow for deeper combat and gameplay.  You'll have to account for your units' encumbrance now as well, which will give them penalties if not managed appropriately.  The economy is also much improved, as Stardock has tried to streamline the building process to make it more accessible and less unwieldy by integrating food tiles into housing to take up less space.  They've also implemented new features like tax rates, which trade the productivity of your city for money.”

Sins: Rebellion:

“Stardock will be expanding upon SOSE's massive scale with gigantic super star destroyers.  In comparison to the new 15-kilometer-long Titans, your regular 1-kilometer star destroyers are going to seem like schooners. “

Nice article.  Is the 15 km for Titans made up so they could so an SSD to SD comparison?

I knew Stardock was able to a lot with a relatively small budget, but still...

(amazingly, Stardock created the original SOSE with $800K)

I keep forgetting how small the budgets actually are compared to other games(I think Brad made a statement that Demigod had a budget under $5 million).  Under a million for Sins is ridiculous.

Cool!

I don't think titans are really 15 times longer than normal capitalships are they? Would make scaling things easier for the Star Wars mod if it were though...

did anyone else see that rebellion would be released spring/early summer?
