You have heard us talking about it over the past few days, and we are excited to finally let you get your hands on it!

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview is available and has taken the Windows interface to a whole new level. Unfortunately, the preview did not come with a desktop feature that the world makes use of billions times a day, the “Start” menu. Luckily, we have a solution!

Start8 from Stardock brings the “Start” menu back to Windows 8. This product is free and is available now!

Features of Start8:

  • Adds a “Start” menu to the Windows 8 taskbar
  • - Enables quick access and searching of your installed applications
  • - Adds Run... option via right-click menu
  • - Adds Shutdown... option via right-click menu
  • - Choose a custom Start button image

Get your free Start8 download here!

so, if the SS in OP is the look of the startmenu AKA the UGLY Metro then WB's will be dead for win 8 when it comes out?  so if it's (start menu) going to look like Metro MS fucked Stardock as their would be no need for WB's if you can't skin the Starmenu. well I geuss I could look at it like this MS's win 8 will save me $34.95 a year for Object Desktop

You know WB skins more than just the startmenu...

HELL F'ing NO

but I will install the Win 8 CP so I too can have bald spots..

EDIT

well I can't say I will not but can say as long as Metro is in 8

why would I want to I don't like metro and I sure don't want Metro look as my startmenu either

I'll stick with win7 and Object desktop..   but if Stardock aka Object desktop can make it without me ever seeing Metro LOOK aka skinning the start menu and not having to ever look at Metro or Metro looking Icons  I could some what like win 8

I am not against win 8

Just METRO and the Metro look

In a perfect world Microsoft will realize their error and have a version of Windows 8 for desktops without Metro.

Perfection is a delusion Illusion. Microstuff has both. Lol
