The AI can't handle starbases, period.
To fix this, either (1) Devs need to get the AI to realize not to charge headfirst into enemy starbases, or (2) go play on ICO against opponents who are actually capable of making strategic decisions.
I recommend option (2), but if the devs eventually manage (1) that would be nice as well.
My main concern is the limitations of the engine. I'm not a game programmer, so I am assuming that everybody knows what they are doing. But the current engine already seemed pretty maxed out given late game lag even with the most recent performance improvements. Even very powerful systems seemed to have little advantage in making the game run more smoothly. Given that there is no 64 bit or multithread, I am wondering how the new additions are going to sit on game.
Did they say that is titan concept art?? Correct me if i am wrong but it could also be the new capitol ships or corvettes or something though i doubt the vasari one is smaller than a cap ship cause it says battleship in its name.
The Shathak-Ovigas says nano-reactor battleship, which to most of us means it's probably one of the new capital ships, the other two were just names without anything like that which is leading to the speculation that they are the Titans since their role wasn't defined. They could be capital ships as well, but why openly call one a battleship and not the others? But until the Beta starts or we get some other official confirmation, it's all purely speculation based on sound reasoning.
Steve Jobs would have had rebellion shipped with multi-core support. Now the CPU continues to be just a bottleneck for my already powerful graphics card on an already amazing game.
We're working on optimizing the backend engine systems to help alleviate the lag. Good progress is being made.
Steve Jobs would have sent the original out with a DVD that stops functioning after 9 months and then offered up replacements until coming out with a superior model a year later, afterwhich you would have to buy a whole new DVD every couple of years to get the 'upgrades'.
Is it just me or do those Vasari titans kind of resemble the reapers of the mass effect series? Not saying its a bad thing, just thought i notice a resemblance. Their beautiful.
The particle system is the only thing that worries me right now...
I spent THREE FREAKING YEARS with Particle Forge 1.1, (PF 3 is total crap) and if the new Particle Forge is anything too different, I will have to go and RELEARN EVERYTHING!!!! (UNACCEPTABLE)
The price of victory, Krdax.
Exile, I can kinda see it, but then I see a similarity to several crustaceans. Probably all goes back to that.
True. Could have easily been coincidentally both based on the crustacean shaped creatures.
It happens quite often. Crustaceans just have a mean look to them. Look at half the Zerg.
Got crabs?
You won't have to relearn anything. We've only increased some of the internal particle count limits a bit.
The concept art is pretty good, absolutely love it. I believe the Charybdis is Vasari Titan and the second one, forgot the name, with blue windows and glowing stuff is Advent one.
Best game EVER!
