Any new plethora of planetary abilities ... or planetoid/deep space etc map items?

Yarlen, is Impulse Reactor still a go as the replacement for ICO?  If so, will the beta be using that platform or the ICO platform?

The initial beta will not feature multiplayer.  Reactor support is currently up in the air, but we're still planning on it if it's possible.

Thanks for the update!

AI updates??? Dear me, do they use better strategy now? Enough to rival the average player without tripling their income???

Excitement has filled my soul.

What, I haven't heard about any new structures before, I wonder what those will be.

Well one maybe a Titan shipyard. Maybe.

Pre-ordered today to get in before the discount expires.  In a world filled with gaming disappointments, Sins is one of the few standout titles that ranks with the best games of all time (and I go back to the 8-bit days).  It is a true gaming classic.  And, even better, it is one of the few titles the manages to provide a deeply immersive sci-fi experience every time.

As a cheap SOB, I don't say this lightly:  Ironclad, it is a pleasure to give you my money.

I assume the 12 new ships are the titans and corvettes for each of the sub factions, new structures are likely a shipyard for the titan being that the current facilities are too small should one be required, and some static defense against said titans.

Updated Galaxy Forge w/trigger system for more interesting map designs
...

By chance would any of those triggers include the spawning of ships so I can set up pirate ambushes?

Don't forget the 3 new capitalships per race too. That only leaves 3 ships left for the corvettes, assuming they haven't been cut.

That's exactly what I am thinking too.

I saw too little info about this game to consider a pre-order.

A development team is as good as it's last product. Lots of dev teams went down the drain after one or two good products. Yes, of course, the original Sins was top-notch as was Entrenchment, Diplomacy though failed to impress. Looking at the features of  Rebellion it looks like an expansion for the price of a stand-alone game. I'll wait for the reviews, perhaps i am missing something.

I feel the same way.  I want to know more about the online multiplayer aspects of the game and how much they will promote Rebellion to people who've never played Sins before.

on Sep 29, 2011

I also preordered.

I got Trinity since 2 months (still learning to master the game) and I regretted that I didn't bought it earlier. The game is fantastic and I was amazed to notice that devs are still supporting the game after so many years from release. There are a lot of companies out there that make good games, but few of them are offering support (bug fixing) for such a long time .

I can't believe some of the hard core online players are undecided because they haven't seen enough!  What about the hundreds hours/dollars you've already enjoyed.  You know it will be well worth the $30 bucks!  Come on, its only 30 bucks, thats minor compared the value you've recieved, and shouldn't even be a consideration.  Good Greif.  You know its going to be an improved version of a game that you already know and love.  Just even more features.

Come on Greg & Whip.  I can't wait to wade into the throngs of new online Rebellion users, along with you.

(Devs, please also improve the Empire Tree.)

In terms of the cost of leisure, even if you have a pretty poor job that only pays $10/hour, for every hour you play Sins (whatever version) you're essentially giving up on $10. If the cost for Rebellion is $30 currently (for those with Trinity), that's only the equivalent of 3 hours. Just two or three standard 5v5 matches could take longer than that! If you play Sins regularly, the cost for Rebellion (3 hours) is negligible. (Or if you have a higher paying salaried job the cost would be significantly less, maybe only the equivalent of 1 hour)

Depending on your wage, you might be able to get Rebellion for the "price" of not playing a single 5v5 match on one particular night. Maybe it would minidump near the end anyway!

Just my economic-time perspective on things.

I am def pre-ordering I'm sure the game will be awesome, not to mention the new modding opportunities. I just want to know what the updated game engine will be capable of, or is it still the 32-b game that is able to handle more than 2gbs. Diplomacy is much, much improved, large maps are running good late game, but with all this new content how will it fair....

Excited anyway, look forward to seeing what's in store for us!!
