A new beta update for Tiles was released bringing it to version 0.85. Tiles is a new app from Stardock which current Object Desktop subscribers have access to. It makes managing your running applications and windows much easier than using the Windows taskbar.
Tiles v0.85 update:
- Ability to rename shortcuts now via right click menu
- Shortcuts dragged to the bar are copied to a different location so the original shortcut being deleted will not break it
- Fixes to multitouch support and now supports opening the right click menu using a single finger down + tap of the second finger gesture
- A fix for some system tray icons appearing as the app icon rather than their icon (CoreTemp, Process explorer etc)
- Opera is now added to the web page as it should have been originally but failed to work for some people due to a case sensitivity issue
- Adding special windows installer based shortcuts like ones to Office apps may now show the apps on the page correctly when they are running
- Dragging drives to the bar from my computer should now give them a label - note for now please only drag a single drive at a time
- Option to change page by bumping up against the screen edge (disabled by default)
- Rearranged some menu items
- Added option to show the clock or time or both on the bottom of the bar
- Explorer windows dragged to a page will hide when that particular window is open and only that explorer window will show on the page
- Added tooltips (can be disabled) when you hover over items
- Fix for some bar flicker and z order issues
- Adding shortcuts to the web tab should allow windows from those exes to show on that page.
- Various other fixes including a fix for some shortcuts potentially causing crashes
- New icon for system tray installation of tileskinzip files.
- Fix for reports that shutdown can be slowed
- Horizontal wheel scrolling switches pages
- Vertical wheel scrolling over the top area where the page titles are also switches pages
