Windows Phone 7 Launched

Microsoft this week unveiled the final details in it's desire to become a major player in the mobile world that has been dominated by the iPhone, and with Android steadily gaining share as well. Windows Phone 7 was an ambitious gamble, basically starting from scratch which from the outside looks like it was a bet worth taking.

At the launch event in New York, Steve Ballmer and the WP7 team showed off the initial offering of 10 Windows Phone devices from various manufactures including HTC and Samsung.
