Last week we released the v1.99 beta for ObjectDock Plus 2, and this week we have an update to that beta to update some issues and features.

  • New "Show Applications" mode for Quicklaunch docks
  • Reorganized right-click menu when right clicking shortcuts on quicklaunch docks, to emphasize interacting with the application
  • Fixed "Browsing to object failed" messages and other such failures when interacting with the new Choose Icon dialog. "Browse..." menu item in new Choose Icon dialog hooked up again
  • Fixed glitch with tabbed dock mouse-activation Fixed right-mouse button drags to zoomer docks not working
  • Fixed menu options when right-clicking on separator sections

Current users who have upgraded to ObjectDock Plus 2 can update via Impulse.  You can also still upgrade to the OD+2 beta or by the current version which includes beta access by visiting the ObjectDock website.

still having problems with the change icon setup. choosing an icon from any other location except the bundled images folder in objectdock itself results in the icons being reset to default after a reboot. I can get around this by placing the icons i want to use in the bundled images  folder but that really defeats the purpose of having the ability to browse etc etc.

Me too. It's slow as hell, almost to the point of not responding. And for some reason, it keeps resetting the icon for my Microsoft keyboard, but nothing else.

Any insight into saving themes?

Looks like the 64 bit native Running Applications icon thumbnail bug is FIXED!!!

The Monitor 2 of 3 monitors (2 adapters) bug still remains though.

It's awesome to see active development on ObjectDock again!!!

nimicitor: Please try right-clicking on any shortcut to access "Run as Administrator", as well as any other file-related shortcuts. Same method as used in explorer to gain access to extended menu items

mirs: No dell-dock equivalent coming soon sorry We're not doing anything to disrupt docklet support however.

Excalpius: No luck on getting to the 2nd/3rd monitor issue yet, I have noted it however.

Monty: Saving/loading themes isn't supported in the new OD at this time unfortunately. We weren't happy with the OD1 implementation of this and so decided to not rewrite it into the new OD2 UI at this time. You'll need to manually copy your settings from "%LocalAPPDATA%\Stardock\ObjectDock\" in the meantime to make backups.

"New new new new" (redone completely, again) Choose-icon dialog upcoming. Actually its already available - we put out a build today - but was able to wrap up a few additional bits this evening so I'd wait til tomorrow, we'll be doing another update with some other improvements. (Such as the return of "Hotspots" for tabbed docks, and minimizing of active applications if you click on their icon in the new "Show Apps" mode (/ cycling if more than one window is open ; use control+click to access minimize-all-windows)

Thanks I'll keep OD1.

PS  LOVE today's Choose-icon dialog!

It's better, but it's still slow and not very intuitive. Plus, when I click "change icon" it seems to automatically reset the icon back to the default right when you start to look for another one.

Well, that's disappointing, but thank you for the answer.
