hmmm...I've no idea what an SDK is but If an SDK for effects is already included in the 3.2 download, why the separate link for a dynamic dreams SDK download? Are they complements or substitutes? My OS is XP and I'm relieved just to get Deskscapes running unmodified dreams without glitches, never mind the optional bells and whistles. What the heck does SDK stand for anyway?

SDK stands for Software Development Kit.

It is for people who want to make dynamic dreams using C++.  The effects SDK is included with Deskscapes simply because it always has been and lets you create new effects in C++.  You can also create new effects using simple pixel shaders which is what the bulk of the effects are in Deskscapes.

If you are not a software developer you do not need to worry about it.

I have DS 3.2 since 3 days and it works very good but i have a little issue with the random backgrounds.

I have over 200 dreams and want 1 dream for 1 day, so i´ve choosed "change every day" in the random background settings but it works not for me.

DS3 change my dreams on every pc start.

What can i do to have 1 dream for 1 day?

Sorry for my bad english, ablev

Every day is every 24 hours, or every time you login.

Every day is every 24 hours, or every time you login.

Oh no, that´s not good.

I believe, "every day" is for 24 hours and "Only change when i login" is for every pc start.

Why 2 various settings for the same option?

Hey amigo!  After much trial and error, I have narrowed the bug down for ya.  8)

In the latest Deskscapes rev, the problem ONLY occurs in the Photodream dream when "Move picture in three dimensions" is Enabled and only on Nvidia graphics cards.  It just so happens that this is my default hardware/dream configuration for every monitor I own, haha.

The background refresh/redraw disappears entirely (it is not drawn or redrawn) and the animated picture moves for about one second, leaving a trail artifact behind, before it just freezes.

This does not happen if any of these conditions are not met.

I hope that helps you narrow it down to a specific line of code.
