This week we released the v7.09a betas for both WindowBlinds and SkinStudio.  WindowBlinds allows you to completely change the look and feel of Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.  SkinStudio is used to create and modify the skins that WindowBlinds uses.

This latest update includes:

  • Added new font objects with texture and later support
  • Added flip option for text along with use texture alpha channel option
  • Advanced font objects now supported by per pixel frames
  • Optimized layer performance
  • Optimized blur area calculations (7/Vista)
  • Optimized Start menu blur performance (Windows XP)
  • Fixed issue with grouped taskbar buttons on Win 7

You can update to the betas via Impulse, but make sure “show pre-release versions” is checked in Impulse settings.  If you don’t have WindowBlinds already, you can get more info at www.windowblinds.net.

Open up SkinStudio.  Go to Change skin fonts and click Change font.

All should become clear.

I have not seen the feature to import sections from other skins for quite a while. SkinStudio has always had this in the past. I used to be able to import a progress bar with its coding from a different skin. Will the ability to import colors, sections and images from other installed skins be added to SkinStudio in the future?
